  5. I happened to see a few comments on American arb Facebook the other day about the benefits of going 32/1 of even 25/1 2-stroke mix, to help prevent overheating. Not sure if related.

  7. Anyone using a separate harken Winch like what Drew Bristow does in Fiji? Seems like a lightweight, versatile set up that's cheaper than a GRCS or smart winch if you've already got a decent lowering bollard. Looks like he has the 500 - the WLL of 5kN doesn't sound like a lot though...
  8. Could anyone familiar with these old Stihl saws have a look at this picture to see what they think may be wrong, the brake is held on because the distance shown by the red arrows is not far enough to cause the knuckle circled in blue to go over centre and hold the band off the clutch drum. I cannot decide whether the front handle may be bent, the brake actuator handle wrong for the saw or the part circled in blue worn or defective. I'm not very familiar with Stihls but have had 4 dropped off after they were retrieved from the workshop of a dealer who ceased trading. Not much else wrong with this one apart from a cracked rear handle, broken coarse thread screw stuck in the top AV and fuel filter clogged and carburetor full of fine dust.
  9. Plus a ms460 for good measure.

Solved thanks for all the reply’s. finally got the oil seals from China. It took ages to come and they were smooth on the outside not ribbed and I got an original one for the smaller oil seal under the flywheel. However, it was all one big rabbit hole. The real problem was at the HT lead had a crack in it or/and it was where the spark plug connector went in to the HT lead. So even though the resistance on the coil tested correctly, with the multimeter. Then I tested the ht lead separately for continuity and wiggle it about lost continuity. So i over looked a spark issue because it was getting really good spark when you held it against the cylinder, but in actual fact, it wasn’t. i made a special hook puller out of a windscreen wiper metal blade. Placed it between the rubber seal and the crankshaft lift it up vertically. I used the crankshaft with a nut on as the Fulcrum on the flywheel side and players to grab hold of the metal bar/puller, I put the clutch back on to do that side. that worked really well. I’ll include some pics, but I didn’t take pictures of actually doing it, but hopefully it’ll help. i did use the above link to get the seals I’ll include a picture of those as well. I also found a French company that did one that I think would work as well. It’s more like the original. I’ll include that as well. Thanks https://www.123bearing.co.uk/seals/seal/rotary-shaft-seal/bb-13x21x4-nbr?srsltid=AfmBOorR4JlNLruWUl1CvJ18d0AewzWn19Bd1fu8Q7a_hUhclJzAKKS-
  14. Shut up. The first things you’re supplying are knockoffs that you’ve claimed are which they aren’t. They’re knockoffs that will keep coming back for warranty work until you, the customer or probably both of you are pissed off and out of pocket. I’d have maybe understood if you were doing something to them, inspecting individually, replacing key components, tuning etc but you’re just adding a step to getting cheap shit from the internet. Change tack. The world needs quality, not more cheap shit.
  15. “ That’s how it is “ holy shit you make that Labour MP seem sensible 😳 I’m looking at things in plain sight as are many people nowadays. Not through a left wing libtard lens. It’s not derogatory and it’s nothing compared to what happened to the young white girls in question, how many times did they say “ please stop” or ask for police help. I suggest you make the time and read the book I mentioned.

  17. Thanks! Ex tree inspector came out to look and said much the same, confirmed its Trametes. Probes went reasonably deep and actually there are hollows all sides, but he tapped around the trunk and buttress roots to find they were sound. Recommending a 2m reduction to previous point and will write a report for the planning guy to decide, as its got a tpo.
  18. House proximity... if it has been there 30 years and the extension for 17 a competent builder / architect will have accounted for it (however....) As above, hard to kill it off, poison, keep going at it taking off all the new shoots as they appear or stump grind the roots and hope. Even the logs taken off will sprout roots and shoots if left in a suitable place. I'd look at managing the tree as well.
  19. Have a look at the Foggysail fix on another site, it should help!
  20. Morning, up and out to do a wee village favour for the community orchard. Blue skys here and getting warmer.
  21. If they were on his property the conveyance should have flagged it up. Until the council prosecute there is no loss. If they do prosecute and win then there may be a case against the conveyancer but I don't think you can get compensation for the cost of a fine in a criminal offence. He had the tree felled and ignorance is no defence so it will be interesting if the council do get involved.
  22. That does sound concerning. If the root sample wasn’t taken near the actual damage and the sketch shows damage in an area where none exists, you have every right to question the accuracy of the report. It might not necessarily be fraud, but it could be a case of carelessness or miscommunication. You should consider bringing this up with the arborist directly or even seeking a second opinion from an independent professional. Document everything — especially the photos and discrepancies — in case it needs to be formally reviewed later.

So £4000? Collect any mowings or discard?
  24. Yeap, it's all a massive game of smoke and mirrors, playing the pity card to shame/guilt trip into a green wasteland. It's a bit like a security expert telling me I need reinforced steel doors, high security locks, biometric id and state of the art alarms and patrol dogs. Then the dawning realisation it's a bloody portaloo!.
