  2. Up and still really thought about the next week off other than passport and credit card, she did tell me to pack 10kg only but I ain't got a bag that small! At home today to play catch up with emails n stuff! Purr, Quiz, Eat. (Nope, I don't get it!)

  5. Yes I saw that when I installed it . The updates are automatic I think , no need to click anything .

  7. I appear to have lost all my small climbing wedges. Have a to be a little careful if using the small ones on the ground, a boot used as a hammer tends to split them. Made up four more tonight, but they do fit well in the pocket, dont notice them while climbing. For a bigger wedge, the range do these, also disposably priced, for the careless arborist. https://www.therange.co.uk/diy/hardware-and-accessories/floor-protection/wood-door-stop#58454 Have not used my large plastic set for ages.
  8. Anyone? Local council tree planning appear to be useless.
  9. I’ve noticed loads of bug-splats on my windscreen over the last week - must be a good thing?
  10. Give me a shout if you need any help on getting started
  11. Started tidying up round my mates place yesterday and this morning, and I remember my mate planting the willows thinking they’ll be a good screen.
  12. I've started regularly scanning you tube for the 'Sailor the dog' comedy channel. He must surely be close to signing a contract to supply hours of entertainment in exchange for alternating tirades of abuse and dog chew treats. Keep this comedy gold going
  13. Edit: have to be honest, it isn't my favourite of Randall's comics yet. Further edits: This is in reference to the kidnapping of RΓΌmeysa Γ–ztΓΌrk
  14. Cut sideshoots back to one bud too, otherwise they will take over. I cut back in winter to 2 buds, one as insurance, then choose the best as the keeper for the year when they get going.
  15. The regen function connects both ports of a double acting ram to the supply, so the force extending the ram is the hydraulic pressure acting on just the area of the piston rod cross section. The forces on either side of the rest of the piston being equal and opposite. Some log splitters use it to quickly take up the slack before the ram contacts the wood and start the split, once the supply pressure exceeds a limit the rod side of the cylinder is dumped to tank, so the pressure is exerted on the full area of the piston. Gas struts work in this "regen " configuration.
  16. Live in Edinburgh, Scotland - as opposed to all the other Edinburgh's it would be if you lived there.
  17. I thought these bee hotels were all Nobby bollox but was surprised my one was used so much and still is. Glad yours is becoming fully booked upπŸ‘
  18. 12 foot here too, I've got Brian James though. Based on what people who have ifors tell me the ramps are easier and lighter on mine, and it tows quieter, so I'd definitely suggest looking at both. I tow mine with a 110 hardtop, so I've got the long door mirror stalks fitted to see round it, and then the extra trailer width is not really an issue. Keep thinking about a remap, especially when the trailers full. Always get there though, just need to be patient.
  19. β€˜Overhanging and loss of light’ is pretty simple. No one is responsible because if the tree is worthy of a TPO neither would be given any consideration, so permission to prune wouldn’t be granted anyway. Structural damage isn’t as simple. Proving the tree was responsible would be the first hurdle. @daltontrees?
  20. All wood is felled and straight. it is all millable ranging oak to ash mostly few big straight bits of yew aswell. Also we have 4 metre lengths of cherry most of it is easily accessible from a gravel track

  23. You should have zero up and down movment on the con rod ( big end ) side to side movment ( lateral ) is acceptable, these saws are more suseptable to main bearing cages breaking up not so much big end bearing wear.
  24. After a two man team, for ad hock work Climber and groundsman is fine Must have own transport and reliable equipment Work mostly North East Hampshire/Surrey/West Sussex www.grayshotttreeservices.com
  25. I would start with blossom wilt, but check the curled leaves to see if anything in living there. You will need to remove all infected growth, cutting back to healthy wood. This material either needs to be burnt or taken away from site. I've had good success with a winter spray of Jays fluid diluted 50/50 with water.
  26. I looked in at the BBC Live coverage of the proceedings a couple of times yesterday and yes, ev'tin TW says ^. Took their trackers er, phones, took pictures, left messages, didn't take scenic route, didn't delete the F out of everything. Right down to the meta-data for the pics giving the exact location of the tree! Seems - like the old boys who did the Hatton Garden job - they just had no idea what those little devices are capable of. I often wonder if there wasn't a cabinet/security meeting about twenty years ago; and someone said, "We are going to introduce a scheme whereby everyone will be forced to carry personal trackers and criminals will be required to film their criminal activity" And everyone just laughed. Then someone said, thoughtfully, "You know, we could make it work if we..." And the rest, as they say, is where you put your arm.
  27. Plug the screw holes and put the rack on Ebay? I have a mate who gets warped planks from me,cuts holes for tea lights, sands and oils them and puts them in a designer furniture shop for Β£350! Unique, sustainable, locally sourced etc
