  2. however many it takes to get the job done. if its a multi-day job then depends how sucky it is. or how sucky the weather is. or how fed up i get. its like asking how long is a piece of string
  3. Not sure on that - all mine took about 5 years to start fruiting well after planting at mine, got one that is about the same as this, due to blossom next year I think (snapped off at ground level, has regrown so is taking a while to develop). Maybe the OP can say whether there were blossoms this year or not? I wouldn't add another stake, unless it is going to get abuse from day toddlers I'd be thinking about when to remove the existing one
  4. Never seen anyone use mL to measure engine displacement before. Are you boycotting SI units?
  5. Now back to the topic you posted earlier, any thoughts on National ID cards, as a man who has worked all over the world and with any nationality we care to mention on these threads, do they work or not. Anecdotal evidence is good, little funny stories that your colleagues have mentioned that might help the Arbtalk hive mind collectively come to a shared opinion. Or are you just going to continue to avoid the topic that... checking.. ah yes, the topic that you posted about.
  6. Mitox are importers and dont make anything themselves. There are clones of the 2511 topper but I've not yet seen any with the rear handle. I like the clones.

  8. of course in a full blown civil war the US would have the luxury of using tactical 'battlefield' nukes. I feel sorry for Greta - the Iranians won't ride in to rescue her, as Trump's country has supplied Israel with "special' bombs that would prevent the Arabs from overrunning them. The IDF will show Greta et al footage of Hamas murders, but no footage of the thousands of murders of Palestinians in the occupied west bank by Israeli 'settlers' - illegal invaders. The settlers didnt do 1200 in one day, they like to spread their murders out - even though the US has a UN veto, the Isralis want to steal the land without being universally condemned Trump is at best a modern Chaimberlain, heading into Mussolini territory

  11. *** Don't know what happened here, but duplicate post, sorry. *** Thanks. This caused me to look back at the records from when we bought the house. There's a copy of the Land Registry document which clearly shows that the ditch, and therefore the tree, is outside our boundary. I'll still be treading gently but nothing is likely to happen this week.
  12. It still is, it has got to about 7m now, each time I see signs of dieback I prune it out. The tree has a lot of leaf damage and some of the branches have been ring barked by something, wasps I think. Interesting question about the allelopathic nature of walnut, I'll have to research it, I was vaguely aware but did not consider it. Now I will have to mind it, as I have planted it alongside a purple spotted orchid I dug up from an extraction ride 30 years ago and it has flowered ever since in the little clod of clay soil I brought it home. it's inside a pot topped up with my sandy garden soil and I have dug in a bit below normal surface . Anyway I'm sure you got the point that life is a continuation and when things go wrong at least a new generation can carry on the genes.

  16. I thought no one really did hedges due to the nesting season which ends Sept, the problem is are clients prepared to wait that long? But this seems a new law or amendment to existing laws ....
