  2. Yes that’s exactly what is happening Dan, its shot skyward this year and that coupled with my removal of some wider spreading branches is making it look a bit odd although still attractive. So my main question is will (annual?) removal of some of its height and width if it will tolerate it, stop the roots spreading so wide?
  3. I so nearly added that one and then for some reason didn't. Now have. Could you vote for it please.
  4. You look to have missed that one. Not confused now nor previously, maybe it’s that “ being worse for wear” affecting you 42. Always best to just STFU when bad with the drink if memory serves me right.
  5. And now a little song sung by my old next door neighbor.
  6. Thanks to everyone who has taken to time to reply. I will be taking on board everyone’s comment’s and getting out there and climbing. OP was more to gain insight into other peoples personal experiences etc and I will not be climbing anywhere which will put people at risk. (Common sense) thanks again 👍

  8. dvla have always been problematic, you could phone on ten successive days, ask the exact same question and get a different answer each time. I recall one instance when you had to surrender the old tax disc to got a refund for the remaining duty, they asked for "recorded delivery" with a signature upon receipt, which I duly complied with, over a month passes and I have yet to receive my refund, so I phone them, 3,1/2 days later somebody actually answered the phone and informed it was lost? "But you signed for it, so it wasn't lost in post at all was it,?" a brief silence ensued,, she then said,, "no it was lost internally" "Ok, what happens now?" "no disc, no refund I'm afraid" wankers!! now they have a different scheme whereby the tax cannot be transferred with change of ownership of the vehicle. and the present owner gets back any full remaining months duty, and the new owner has to tax from the beginning of the month he wishes to use the vehicle from, the current month has been paid for already by the previous owner, but if new owner needs to use the vehicle immediately he has to backdate it to the beginning of the already paid for month. and your refund is calculated from the date they deal with it, so if they "lose it" that's never. I told dvla long ago ,I usually like being kissed when I'm getting fecked.

  15. Their system is a lot more regulated compared to the UK in my experience, if you subcontract work from another company they may not v=be able to pay you without the right tax documentation

Valtra Valmet 6350 Igland 60 Winch (used for 1 job) Quickie Loader with Grab and Bucket Owned by myself for a few years now being used for winching and yard work. No longer working in the industry so time to sell. Grab has seen next to no use along with the Winch. Bucket is well used. Mud flap missing Front mesh grill has seen better days but I never changed it due to use in the woods just incase. Great tractor, starts instantly and no smoke. I will have it looked over again before sale to make sure all is ok and pass mechanic details onto the potential buyer.

  24. I think the Woodmizers are probably more expensive that the Trakmets at the minute, my first one was pre brexit so no tax implications and a good price, super well built etc, since then I’d say price has gone up and quality down as they have got bigger as a company. That’s only an observation or my opinion and in no way are they not well put together it’s just a few finer details and looking at welds etc you see a few differences. My current machine is set up to cut up to 1.2m diameter and 1.1m between the rollers so not as fast as a woodmizer LT 70 for example but it’s what it was specced up for. I’ve seen Woodmizers being used but never had an opportunity to compare the two. I think there’s an old thread in here about them, Big J in particular has used both. Roughly at min I’d say LT70 wide is around £65-70k petrol kubota Trakmet TTP 600 Wide £50-55k plus generator.
  25. Whenever I come across old tree trunks, I see potential—not waste. I've repurposed them into rustic benches, planter bases, even carved stools. If the wood’s solid, turning it into slabs or milling for live-edge furniture is a great option. Otherwise, letting them decay naturally supports habitat and fungi. It really depends on species, condition, and your tools or vision.
