  2. Outstanding, thank you Stuck. I'll follow those leads and see what develops.

  4. ‘Overhanging and loss of light’ is pretty simple. No one is responsible because if the tree is worthy of a TPO neither would be given any consideration, so permission to prune wouldn’t be granted anyway. Structural damage isn’t as simple. Proving the tree was responsible would be the first hurdle. @daltontrees?
  5. I have a 12ft Ifor tipper with high sides. I used to tow it with a remapped Td5 Disco 2. If the trailer was pretty full it would like to try and snake above 45-50mph, and that was with good nose weight. On a weighbridge with it full to the top with chip fresh from felling (can't remember if it was conifer or deciduous) it weighed in at 2990kg. Go 12ft every time I say.
  6. All wood is felled and straight. it is all millable ranging oak to ash mostly few big straight bits of yew aswell. Also we have 4 metre lengths of cherry most of it is easily accessible from a gravel track
  7. You any good at plumbing? My mate in Edinburgh has a wee job for you
  8. I "understand" one prunes in the winter, or Halloween onwards, having observed vines being pruned in the Moselle valley during Halloween school hols, cos the wife was a teacher. So I prune sometime about Christmas, I think? I must leave windows open to allow some insect life in then for pollination, another year. Cheers

  12. You should have zero up and down movment on the con rod ( big end ) side to side movment ( lateral ) is acceptable, these saws are more suseptable to main bearing cages breaking up not so much big end bearing wear.
  13. Stunning and brave.
  14. Wordle 1,411 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟨🟩 🟩⬜⬜🟩🟩 🟩⬜🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Missed chance of a three.
  15. New inhabitants moving in already. There's three tubes been capped off already and it's only been out a few days.
  16. Well, anyway, I tried out that "regen" function. And it makes the tip function twice as fast, 4 sec instead of 8, for the full stroke. And he thinks? Is there something about the return stroke on the better hydraulic log splitters, that uses this same hydraulic flow function? For the same reason. To speed up the empty return stroke.
  17. Just use Microsoft Defender, built in, free and like Steve said just careful.
  18. After a two man team, for ad hock work Climber and groundsman is fine Must have own transport and reliable equipment Work mostly North East Hampshire/Surrey/West Sussex www.grayshotttreeservices.com
  19. That’s all I use it for to be fair, although I’ve doubled up to get small tops to shift.
  20. Good Morning All.
  21. I would start with blossom wilt, but check the curled leaves to see if anything in living there. You will need to remove all infected growth, cutting back to healthy wood. This material either needs to be burnt or taken away from site. I've had good success with a winter spray of Jays fluid diluted 50/50 with water.
  22. I looked in at the BBC Live coverage of the proceedings a couple of times yesterday and yes, ev'tin TW says ^. Took their trackers er, phones, took pictures, left messages, didn't take scenic route, didn't delete the F out of everything. Right down to the meta-data for the pics giving the exact location of the tree! Seems - like the old boys who did the Hatton Garden job - they just had no idea what those little devices are capable of. I often wonder if there wasn't a cabinet/security meeting about twenty years ago; and someone said, "We are going to introduce a scheme whereby everyone will be forced to carry personal trackers and criminals will be required to film their criminal activity" And everyone just laughed. Then someone said, thoughtfully, "You know, we could make it work if we..." And the rest, as they say, is where you put your arm.
  23. Plug the screw holes and put the rack on Ebay? I have a mate who gets warped planks from me,cuts holes for tea lights, sands and oils them and puts them in a designer furniture shop for £350! Unique, sustainable, locally sourced etc
