I remember a story years ago, think it was on here. Guys priced a large conifer removal in London. 3 storey terraced, so they priced to take it all through the house. On the day, the house next door has a crane, loading roof tile or something. They dropped the operator a ton, and he got the lot out! Nearest I've come to anything like that was a road sweeper coming past just as we finished picking up the last bits 😁

That's all you can do. Price accordingly. It's not overpricing. Most people understand. As for going through houses, I just don't qo there, it's a dead cert that something will get damaged or scratched

Like Steve said, new chain. It might not be you, if the chain isn't accurately sharpened and the bar is only slightly mishaped I would think it would make quite a difference on a big piece

That bit I don't get. He says he's got a yard, so I don't understand the situation. But as I say, wouldn't bother, well doesn't bother me. Roofer over the road, fella does driveways 2 doors up. I park my van and occasionally the chipper overnight. we have a bit of a pact. 'Don't tidy up your drive, or I'll have to do mine'

No. Not really. One single fairly loud, but low toned bang. Bit like someone hitting a bass drum. Then loss of power and the engine did sound different, but not metal/nails. Yours sounds like fins off the turbo have maybe broken and sucked through the system. Hopefully not. Like you, I did check the exhaust first. Thought it could be that at first

Yes. Mine blew off at the jubilee clip driving on motorway. (Transit) quite a bang and loss of power

I was working on my bike about 15 years ago. Got a metal burr. Similar entry wound and it then migrated a similar distance over about a week. Go over any stiles, barbed wire etc?

Has anyone had anything shipped or imported from Europe recently? I'm looking at a used chipper in Holland. Is it a nightmare at the moment? Should I just forget the idea? Has anyone any idea of costs? I'm prepared to go and get it, but is it easier and cheaper to ship? Thanks

I'd say, get someone in to do the lot. I can't see my price would be any different. What are we talking about, an extra 20 seconds work. Plus, you won't have it lying there whilst numerous companies let you down
