  6. A few days ago I found some stihl .325 9 pin rim sprockets at work, used on a ms341. That set me thinking... Would the chain speed increase be enough to offset the torque so I don't snap the chain. Has anyone tried this? I'm thinking 25" bar would cut very quickly. [emoji3][emoji848]
  7. Anyone any idea what this is? [emoji106]
  8. You won't find out til spring. [emoji848][emoji12]
  9. Cedar is great for milling. Light, strong and durable timber. Bit too far from Yorkshire For me though. [emoji106][emoji3]
  10. Put an advert in the employment section. There's always crews looking for new staff on here. Get experience with several firms as each will work differently. Find one you're comfortable with. Enthusiasm, drive and determination are essential. Not to mention the 100 mile daily commute and the lack of sleep.[emoji57] You might get lucky and get put through your tickets by a proper firm. Good luck mate [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  11. What's right with this??? [emoji51]
  12. It'll be fine mate, will need more than ten months to season, probably 2-5 years depending on size of cut. I find mold and fungus grow on everything. They die when dry though. [emoji106]
  13. Plugging my phone in. Check an hour later, battery dead. Woodchip in charging port. Again. [emoji35][emoji23][emoji12]
  14. All sapwood will rot, covered in gold or not. Sweetchestnut de-barked might stand a chance once seasoned for several years.
  15. Coal tar soap solution sprayed on. [emoji106][emoji3]
  16. Had a woman on a large housing estate come out to complain that we hadn't knocked on her door to let her know we would be working nearby. Like the other 200 houses we didn't knock at. Can't find the head wall banging emoji. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji12]
  17. All Americans on YouTube think PPE is a pair of sunglasses. [emoji51]
  18. Sporting rights? Mineral rights? Imminent bypass being built? Squatted by travellers? Diseased trees? Or it's in a bog? [emoji12][emoji106]
  19. About 1-1. But most wood molds before dry. Leave the door open? [emoji12]
  20. Hmmm never heard of a tree holding up the sale of a house...? Sounds dodgy to me. Have you checked who's tree it is and any tpo etc? [emoji848]
  21. Brighton is a weird micro climate, the South Downs help too. But DED is in Brighton and it's killing the big elms slowly. Once infected it's a chop job. Cut an elm down today in Huddersfield, only about 200mmdbh, the lads tell me when they get big they get infected. [emoji51]☹️
