  1. Show me a video of a 462 out cutting a 461? [emoji848]
  2. A 20" bar on a 461 is a waste. It'll happily run 25-30" bar all day. Great saw. I'm considering swapping from 3/8 to .325 to increase cutting speed. It is a bit heavy lugging it round the woods all day though. Is 20" the most you'll need? If so, I'd probably get a 261 and send it to spud. My stock 261 will pull 18" buried in oak all day. Porting should allow 20" easily. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  3. I'm making a concerted effort not to slag of husky's crap range of chainsaws. Oops.. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji12]
  4. Sounds appealing. Would you be interested in a groundie for 6 months/1year? How complicated is the visa process? What kind of work? Is it well paid? [emoji106]
  5. As woodworks said, greenhouses are NOT good for milled planks. Unless you want split and bent wood? Out of sunlight, under cover, slight airflow and correct spacings will be much better. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  6. For entry you could get people to send a copy of their cs30/31. At least you cover your back. How about several smaller prizes instead of one big one. I.e. More winners. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  7. What are you doing with it? [emoji57] To get burns???[emoji848] Is it just the arms?[emoji12]
  8. Silkys are great for epicormic growth in this sweaty weather. [emoji106]
  9. Blaiseys right, good access, get a bandsaw in. You'll get more wood and less sawdust. Looks to be some fine boards in that piece. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  10. Hourly rate ???? Suicide financially. [emoji51]
  11. I don't charge for travel. It's in my day rate. 600+miles a week. When I was subbing. [emoji106]
  12. That's quite impressive. Good one Rob. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  13. I use iPhone maps as a sat nav too. However once on the way to a job, the ****er kept sending me to a lane 10miles from the job. Just wouldn't stay on the destination. Otherwise it's great. [emoji106]
  14. 5 years for most helmets. The UV degrades the structure. Ground helmets are designed to come off in event of an impact. That's why no chin strap. Climbing helmets won't fall off, potentially making the impact worse. How's the phone signal in the forest? Will you need a gps phone? [emoji106]
  15. Worked in a woodland in Sussex a few years back, where 30+ yr old s.chestnut had been coppiced, leaving a few nice looking stems. Over several months they mainly fell over, into each other.
  16. I had a car like that once. [emoji12][emoji106]
  17. When the officer came to take a statement from me, I showed him my large hazel club. "Oh a small walking stick" He said. [emoji57] [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  18. Free chainsaws are always a winner. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  19. Looks ok ish, I'm no mechanic, just do my own saws. Could be many things. Start with the cheapest and easiest to change. There are a few guys on here who know saws well. How old is the saw? [emoji106]
  20. Try wonky on here. We cut some in 16, which was felled in 15. He might have some left. [emoji106]
  21. Take the spark plug out and photograph it. Should tell a story. [emoji106]
  22. I'm going to go on an accounting forum later and insult random people. Even though I've never been an accountant. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji12]
  23. How about a flock of mini sheep, a deckchair and a cold beverage? Failing that I'd use a light strimmer with 2mm cord for the easy/grassy stuff and an angled pole hedge trimmer on a harness for the thicker stuff. Make sure it has the metal end thing. Small chainsaw and silky for the rest. [emoji106]
