1. Completely mind boggling, makes you think how irrelevant the human race is in comparison to the vast scale. Are you saying the universe is actually physically expanding, and if so what is there now? Or expanding as we see it, with ever increasing technology?. Surely there has to be other life form out there.
2. Break the rules, pay the fine. The developers probably thought it wasn't a serious issue so just crack on. Surprising how many customers want rid of a tree, find out its TPOd and say "well who'd know". I'd be interested in whether any of the fine goes into replanting in the area or just gets swallowed up by the council.
3. Posts like this are why I love arbtalk
4. Hopefully the drink after the tree work . We Did a Conifer removal for a Ukrainian lady last week, she insisted we have a shot of vodka before starting. We compromised at a brew and some toast.
5. As above, I'd say leaf cutter bee. There will be individual segments within that leaf tube with an egg in each that will grow into a larva then a bee. Pretty amazing how a tiny bee makes this. Oh, and they don't like wood burners
6. Maybe the string was faulty great programme though
7. Anyone watching Judi Dench : My passion for trees? BBC1 20:00-21:00 looks very interesting on tha ad today
8. Stihl do some brushcutter/hedge cutter trousers that you put foam inserts in the knees, shins, thighs. Not sure how good they are though. Don't think they'd stop hs82s though, as my tripod ladders have a few notches in them
9. Cheers G A Groundcare. Loads of crap around float in carb (now cleaned out) and an embarrassing fuel filter best order a new one
10. Holds 1 litre of oil, when I drained it there was 1.5 of fuel/oil so it's not just a dribble that's getting in to the oil.
11. Help with a Greenmech cs100. Last week at a job it wouldn't start, to the point the battery went flat, tinkering about I took air filter off and tried starting it again, brown liquid was coming out of the black pipe that enters the inside top of carb. When I put finger over end of pipe to stop liquid it fired up to the point of the pressure forcing finger off pipe then cutting out again. Turns out the petrol has somehow got into the oil sump (happened once before 6 months ago, spoke to greenmech who said change oil and would be fine, and I must have left fuel tap on!!!). so, changed oil and all was fine, apart from a little smoke at first. Anyone know how fuel is getting into the oil? I've checked the fuel tap and now even started taking fuel pipe off when transporting. Just hope it's not a bigger issue. Any advice is greatly appreciated
12. Ha Ha, Just pick it up as you go along
13. Try Halfords Autocentre, I got some BFG T/A Ko2 last week from there.
14. Any chip tipping sites in Bolton, Lancs. Usual place has been stopped. My local tip wants £75 + vat per tonne

You still trying to lure people to your dogging sites Wes?
16. With the amount of cat shit I've stood in or dragged brash through they can stay up in the tree
17. HPM 3 leg adjustable for me, well worth the money. Got the 1.8 & 3.6mtr, very stable and fantastic on uneven ground. I have notched V's in them though with the Stihl HS82 on more than one occasion
18. T shirt & chainsaw trousers, too hot for anything else even if it's raining
19. Surely if you kill it and leave it standing at some point it will come down on to something or someone. Take it down with a silky if it's only 15ft.
20. Ouch, gutted for you. Sure things will work out though, just stick at it
21. What's the difficult position?
22. Hmm, anyone know volume of chip you can carry on a milk float? . There's going to have to be some significant investment and research to come up with electric vans that are of any use. Surely changing rules on O Licence/tachograph up to 6.5t would make more sense as we wouldn't be making numerous trips to dump chip everyday, resulting in less emissions.
23. Doesn't work on my iPhone, I get following message "Arbtalk app will not work with iOS 11. Developer needs to update for compatibility"
24. Cheers Mick, think it might accidentally get put with my stash tomorrow 👌🏻
25. This was dropped off at the farm today, they told farmer it was Ash. I'm thinking more Locust. The leaves were attached to one of the logs
