  1. That would be great if u can Gary, customer wants job done Tuesday so fingers crossed.
  2. Hi, anyone got a contact number for Manchesters Tree Officer? mobile if poss. I know Salford have interactive maps for TPOd trees but towards Ardwick is not online as yet and all phones are being upgraded on council landline main number. Just says email ffs, could be waiting weeks just to find out if TPOd or not. Cheers.
  3. Or you could just tie some rope on a normal barrow n let your groundie be the motor
  4. I'm 99% sure it's the customer who's done the hacking, after another call from them today. Seemed quite panickey after I mentioned TO, said they would have to call me back regarding the work on the Conifers despite accepting the quote 5 mins earlier.
  5. Thought that but just seemed too simple lol, cheers.
  6. Was thinking more along the lines of covering myself. If tree officer goes round and asks who's damaged other trees, will customer just point blame in my direction
  7. Hi, been asked to quote some tree works for a residential customer. Taking down 2 conifers ( easy bit) but then 1 lower limb of a willow "because it might fall off" was the reason!!! 1 complete stem off a twin stem birch "because it looks odd". Now both trees are TPO'd as well as a Mountain Ash, so said I'm not wasting anyone's time applying as it will be a NO. Thing is Mountain Ash has been butchered to near death, and Willow has been hacked at. Now do I just go ahead and do the conifers, as that's all I've quoted to do, or contact LA first at risk of losing the work if they go banging on door?
  8. Been asked to clear the grounds of a large empty property in a conservation area, consisting of ash saplings and self seeded shrubbery, and more brambles than I care to look at. All waste chipped and left on site, am I ok to just start the work or better to contact the LA?
  9. Anyone had/having trouble with the choke on a Greenmech CS100? Mine seems to vibrate on when in use and causes machine to cut out, which is getting a pain in the arse. Was thinking a quick fix with an elastic band so I can still use it to fire it up from cold
  10. RFS - Cert Arb compertance awards That's how I read it Adam
  11. Thanks for that Geoff
  12. Cheers for reply, luckily my back was to the wind while grinding, was a fair bit of dust blowing about though. Thankfully I'm still alive
  13. Anyone know where to get the 1/4 sprocket for these echo saws?
  14. Hi, maybe a stupid question, grinding a Laburnum stump later today, would breathing in any dust cause any issues? Or am I being over cautious with the whole poisonous thing.
  15. As above, if grass is wet or just that bit too long you don't get a great finish. I have the Viking for a few jobs where it doesn't matter so sometimes just follow operator with the blower if it starts clumping up. Great for the dry weekly jobs though. Had the Husky which looks great but only single speed....fast, ended up shearing the blade boss bolt on long grass on its first outing, so returned it for the Viking which I've had no issues with.
  16. What you got planned for it? Always fancied giving it a go but would just get wound up if I wasn't much good and end up with a pile of firewood
  17. Ok, I've been convinced the Echo is the better saw, now where's the best deal with the smaller 1/4 inch chain ?
  18. 4 days trying to decide on the Echo or Stihl 150 and I'm still no nearer
  19. Well they say you learn something every day
  20. I've bought 2 Piranah chains and each one has a pair of teeth on the same side
  21. New blades now fitted on the CS100, rips the brash out my hand. Result
  22. Hmmmmm, decisions decisions. Echo 2510 or Stihl 150
  23. Old blades off, seller sent me a spanking new set fitted today so will test it in morning. How do you post photos?
  24. Taken cartridge out, just letting the wd40 work its magic on the torx before impact driver comes out tomorrow
