  1. I would suggest you get it looked at as obviously it should start warm in any weather. Don’t forget these are sold in Australia they have to perform for them guys to.
  2. Not wishing to tell any of you how to use a saw but, are you priming them when there hot and putting the choke control onto quarter throttle setting. There is now a silver sticker on the cylinder cover. They start every time like this unless you have a fault. The new fuel routing for the 550 which was the worse offender along with the new carb has solved all the hot start problems. 2016 model might not have the latest carb fitted but if you follow the sticker on the cylinder cover you should have no problems.
  3. The dealer knows nothing about the product he is selling. It’s not aspen. It’s a fuel similar to aspen but it is not made by them. Is has a different chemical make up than aspen and is mixed with there XP oil. If you run husqvarna kit then it makes sense to use it. Aspen is still a very good product but they are not the same.

    Aspen

It’s not uncommon for machines to need a slight tune to run on aspen as obviously it’s different to pump fuel. It’s certainly not crap it has many benefits over pump fuel and your dealer is obviously ignorant to the fact despite stilhl selling a similar product. Husqvarna have also launched their range of fuels. It’s not the same as aspen but shares the same common benefits of using alkalyte fuel. Aspen is the market leader as they have been doing it for years but there is other alternatives.
  5. My husqvarna battery blower works a treat for clearing the van on a morning. And as it’s quiet I can use it anytime.
  6. 560 and 562 side cases are not the same due to difference in the crankcases
  7. What aload of rubbish! Use the 4t and mix your own oil if you wish. If you use XP you have just mixed what’s in the orange can anyway! The best oil is XP for autotune husqvarna saws but warranty doesn’t specify oil brand that’s not allowed however it can advise best practice. If you won’t run XP then use something half decent but why would you not use good oil in something with £1000 rrp.....
  8. I have used one, it’s a nice saw ideal for general large logging. Obviously doesn’t have the kick that the 72XP does but it’s lighter and more powerful than the 365
  9. Had mine since last year, goes really well a massive step forward compared to 372
  10. no better fuel mix for a modern Husqvarna saw!
  11. Exactly why a pressure test is so important on these. Waste of time repairing them if you haven’t made sure the engine is air tight. However it still surprises me the amount of people who don’t have the correct tools
  12. 572 has a completely new system as does the new 545 brush cutter.
  13. Some interesting theories going on here...
  14. I want one of them, even though it is a stihl, great bit of engineering
  15. It was actually the transfer port cover cap that caused the issue, but this is old news the cylinder has completely changed since!
  16. It’s not a common issue, those with bad seals have failed already the issue has been resolved for several years now
  17. Sounds likes you didn’t have the most helpful dealer? Turned out for the better though.
  18. Don't forget the X cut file gauge! Also the New X cut 3/8 C85 is one hell of a chain!
  19. Run good fuel through it and change the oil regular no reason why it won’t last a long time. As above Loncin engines are pretty good and even if it did go bang they are cheap enough to just stick another on.
  20. Standard it should be a large spline. 560XP is on the smaller spline. You could get an 8tooth sprocket which will just fit without adding a link to the chain and with enough adjustment left on the side cover. Can’t really help with your 404 idea, sounds plausible though if you can get a bar to suit which I’m sure there will be.
  21. Sounds like who ever repaired it didn’t have a clue. Hardly the machines fault but it’s what gives the poduct a bad name.
  22. I think you need to wip the exhaust off and check the piston and cylinder.
  23. You make sure the valve clearances are set correctly for a start. Other than that buy a husqvarna 580BTS and be done with it
  24. In the perfect world it would be best to use 2 cans, but that isn’t really practical. The current version of XP was produced specifically for the new 500 series engines and is the best oil to use for those saws. Keeping temperatures down is key to long life. Now I’m sure it will be a similar story with stihls engines and there top spec oil. I don’t know the make up of there oil but I would assume it to be of very good quality for there engines also. So in short pick one and ensure you use good quality fuel and an accurate mix, don’t be tempted to add that bit extra oil for luck etc. If it was me I would be using the XP as I know that engine needs the best oil.
  25. You would be surprised what is still made, lots of old saws are still made but can not be sold within the EU. 346 is prime example but even older stuff is still produced for regions such as Africa. No new saws will run on the petrol out there but they still have logs to cut and saws still need to be sold!
