  1. The SN plates are very easy to remove with the right tool, a very fine screw driver or gasket scraper just tapped round under the rivet head is enough to lift them and then they just pull out. I have done hundreds as when the short motors came out for the 560 i couldn't send a saw back without its SN. You can reuse the rivets just tap them back in
  2. The amount of 550/560s I have worked on where the cylinders and top cover are coated in sap and resin. All the operator needs to do is clean it at the end of the day 5 minutes if that! Then they wonder why they seize when the cooling fins and the like are coated and the thing can't breathe! But what do I know..
  3. How many hours were you using the machine for? What cutting equipment have you had fitted? Were you using the machine flat out? This isn't normal if you are using the machine flat out with suitable cutting equipment. If your using it for trimming work and many people do and you are only using part throttle most of the time then the vibration through the machine is always higher. They are designed to run flat out. If that's what your doing then I would suggest a looking deeper into it. How old is the machine?
  4. The coils are poor on these saws even more so on recent 236 models and often give carb symptoms but it's the coil that's breaking down
  5. I've had them both in bits. Just my opinion but you will see what I mean if you have a look at them
  6. Has any one looked at the husqvarna HE3. For a start it's gearbox is a lot more heavy duty with proper casings and proper bearings! You will wear the stihl out if you going to be using it all day.
  7. There is new cage material now which lasts much longer. There was a reason for 365/372 bearing failure at low hrs, that to has been resolved.
  8. why not replace with the new SP33G Husqvarna Chain produced in the Huskvarna Chain factory. It really is a good combination on this little saw and there is a definite difference compared to Oregon ect. All new 435s come with this now in the UK. As long as the bar you have ordered is 050. No need for 058 on these.

    clearance saw

Husqvarna RXT models only in the UK which is a shame but if there wasn't the demand then that's why they are no longer available here. Purchase from Europe or find another machine but the 555 takes some beating!
  10. There are no bad ones in particular, just make sure it starts easily, ticks over Nicly and has plenty of power. Common issues, stuck or worn piston ring, mainly down to people running cheap oil. If it doesn't idle this is why in most cases. Split impulse hose Rear Av spring and bottom plate. Check the crankcase near the chain catcher for wear. Other Than that there a good saw, a cracking little engine and easily repaired if there any issues. A lot of parts are updated but if you can you want to purchase a mark 2 machine but there are plenty of mark 1s still about with little problems
  11. This is the correct procedure as depicted by the silver sticker on the top cover. There is a new carb with a new fuel hose which is shorter and is routed away from the back of cylinder. With this fitted and this start procedure there are no hot start issues with a mechanically sound saw
  12. did anyone visit the Husqvarna Museum? Huskvarna is only 10-15 mins from Jonkoping
  13. Using the chain brake tool also works pretty well
  14. Phahaha did they say battery or mains?
  15. There is a new clutch design for 560 already. Best thing you can do is check the exhaust bolts regular. The new crankcase clutch side is aluminium now which helps prevent crankcase bolts slackening.
  16. You won't be disappointed I can tell you!
  17. Anyone thought theives might actually use this site to there advantage. It's not hard to find the ebay listing from other posts and if the guy that's selling it is connected to the people that stole your kit and browses this site well now they know Your onto them. Just a thought..
  18. Still a cracking little engine, most of the issues are fully resolved pulse pipes and manifolds ect. Wear issues sorted unless of course its owner error
  19. Stuck or worn piston ring. Doesn't need to have many hours depending on the cylinder fitted.

    will it

No it will not completely different sizes it also won't drive the oil pump even it did fit
  21. Haha that wasn't what I meant 😉
  22. How to do you reset the saws you work on if your not a dealer?? You can buy the box but how do you access the firmware I wounder?
  23. 2017 machines have all of the older issues addressed. The idling issue is easily sorted as above it's just a firmware update. The AT12 carb sorted a lot of issues mainly down to the spring diaphragm.

    560 woes

Clutch side now made of alluminium whilst flywheel side is still magnesium. Also improved bearing cage material in the main bearings. Heat is the biggest cause of failure for the bearings which is why a good oil is so important on these engines

    560 woes

You may spot something a little different with the new short motors
