  1. Most spares are still available for these however if it needs a deck shell you can forget it as these are no longer available so if the deck ain't solid then it's not worth a great deal. Also if it's never had transmission oil changes then there's a limit on there life to.
  2. Has to be the husqvarna 525BX for me. Handle is inline with the outlet so you don't get aches in your wrist if your using it longer periods unlike any of the stihl machines. Really low vibration to 1.2m/s again much lower than the stihl. If you get any of the other 525 husqy kit it all uses the same engine so same filters etc.
  3. Do you have to collect? What about a husqvarna P525 diesel rider. Choice of decks 132cm or offset 155cm. Excellent finish. Powered via a 3 cylinder Kubota with AWD and they are hand built in Sweden so the quality is also excellent. Hydraulic height adjustment if you want and you can also flip the deck for cleaning etc. If you can get away with mulching then there isn't a better rider for finish and speed. 58cm uncut circle it will go where a tractor can't! Ask for a demo as mine is fantastic!
  4. As said do not use a screw in stop unless you want to fit a new piston! There really isn't much material there anymore. I normally use the impact in short bursts if there tight with pull chord and they eventually come off.
  5. its Chinese you wont find many spares that said they do run ok. you would be better finding a cheap mower with a Briggs classic 35 or sprint engine. Bomb proof, easy to repair and loads around

    560 woes

so the piston is well worn and its only done 100 hrs or so. I thought redline oil was meant to be the be all and end all.......
  7. The newer .325 bars shouldn't fail at the noise like the old ones did. When they get a further revamp like the 3/8 bars they will last much much longer
  8. Husqvarnas biggest seller. Not a bad machine but only for occasional firewooding. The 135 is a far better machine for not much more so depends on your budget. The 236 is based on Poulan, McCulloch similar domestic saws where as the 135 is a true husqvarna design and shares the same platform as other saws further up the range.
  9. Sounds like you were using it for pro use? Husqvarna didn't make commercial riders back then so using a domestic machine for pro use is bound to end in disappointment. What model did you have? The P series husqvarna riders are a fantastic machine. Mine beats anything I have used before powered by a 25hp Kubota.
  10. Husqvarna have a range of machines with combi 94cm or 103cm decks. I always feel you sit on a stiga compared to sitting in a rider. The seat seems to high on a stiga but that's just my opinion. If you go for a rider go for a model with v twin engine they sound so much nicer and if you dont need AWD then don't bother they handle really well with out it.
  11. you also have the option of fitting a non autotune carb if wanted. yes they are nylon caged gen 1 is no bad thing its a simple and reliable hence why its still fitted with gen 1 now.
  12. they are still produced but not for any eu market due to emissions laws. Much older saws are still produced for places with poor quality fuel such as brazil, south Africa ect
  13. There is now a modified inlet manifold and pulse pipe which prevents this from happening. The barbs on the brass port split the pipes so the new one is no smooth with a rounded top.
  14. A hole in the piston also, not the quality you'd expect from Stihl yet people still rave on about how good they are. Those days are long gone now I would say. Sorry that's not a dig at your good self just venting....
  15. There are slight changes in how the handle wiring is fitted and pressed inside the handle hence two tank assembly's
  16. As per above yes if you have an early machine then it would benifit the new upgraded parts. Also make sure your replacement tank is the correct one for your saw either mark one or two as there are two tanks. As for difficulty, there isn't anything hard about it just fiddly if you have not done one before. Takes me about 35-40 mins to change one but then again I work with them everyday. My best advise is make sure you get the wiring in the correct slots and routed correctly without that the trigger won't fit properly and it won't return. Be careful not to crush any wires.
  17. yes sorry there is a new version of the tool you have. The dealer should be able to get you one.
  18. Yes better springs and changes in shoe material.
  19. The clutch change is recent back end of last year. The new design gives a much longer service life.
  20. Husqvarna P524 petrol or p520/25D choice of deck sizes 112 to 155cm. Compact and extremely quick cutting. 58cm uncut circle on the diesels as well as AWD.
  21. Sorry, yes should have been more clear, full throttle between 8000-12000RPM are the settings. The engine tunes via the rpm info received from the ignition module after each lean out test, approximately once a second. The module carries on the lean out test cycle until maximum power is achieved. This of course is dependant on load, fuel type, altitude, humidity ect. The point I was trying to make was you cant set the saw up by cutting disks and keep it at that setting like you can with a manual carb because obviously autotune is constantly tuning so your not resetting anything its just tunning to the conditions you put it under which it measures every second between the two rev ranges
  22. All this talk of resetting auto tune, I'm sorry but that's not how the system works. The system is constantly tuning every second just start it and use it. Taking the spark arrestor out does not mean you then have to go and cut disks!!
  23. Don't take this as the wrong way I'm not telling you how to start your saw but what is your procedure for hot starting? You should prime it several times and start on the 1/4 throttle setting via the choke leaver. This is the hot start procedure as illustrated on the top cover and if they say it has no issues then it should start every time this way. There have been numerous mechanical changes as well which i would hope your saw has since you have had hot starting issues.
