    X-Cut

they haven't spent this much money for it not to compete with the best...... its good!
  2. You are wasting your time if you do not vac and pressure first. With these saws it's as important as looking through the exhaust port!
  3. Oh dear........ This can not be done the system doesn't allow it. The 550xp has completely different components to a 560. You have to tell the system what carb it has fitted and what ignition module. When connected the programs knows what saw it is obviously so trying to input the software for the 560 will result in an error message. There is no way of re mapping it's not a TDI! I think your mate might need a bit of training on how the system works and I don't mean that offensively.
  4. I'm as tight as arseholes, I mean careful But I buy nearly everything off the web, I do want quality kit but I get it from the guy selling the genuine article for the cheapest price. Local dealers have bills to pay over heads ect but you know what, there career choice! I ain't paying over the odds to line some bugger else's pocket. It's my hard earned and I keep hold of as much as possible! So FR Jones would be getting my money if he's cheaper on a saw for example I mean 20 quid cheaper is still 20 quid in your own pocket. As the OP says he doesn't have a big garden and a ride on mower because he pays top wack for everything! And yes I'm that sort that goes to the local dealer looks at it and then goes home and gets it of the web for less, unfair call it what you like but that's the way of the world! Everyone wants everything for nothing and so do I!
  5. Go for the 545RXT same as the 545rx except it has a slightly thicker iner shaft but most importantly it comes with the balance X harness the best harness on the market! No contest
  6. Good chance they might have ballsed it up trying to repair it!! Wrecked a set of cases and now want to wash there hands of it. Sending it away will just embarrass them further as it will be obvious someone's tried braying a set of new bearings in. Dealer doesn't want to pay out his own pocket so easiest thing blame the customer tell him it's scrap and not under warranty! Bit synical maybe........ But why else would you not send it for someone else to look at
  7. Appalling service really name and shame I say!
  8. Take the saw to another dealer One has to ask why the customer let it go on for so long. Either way he should get some sort of support 3/8 conversion parts are listed on the parts lists so how does he explain that I wonder??
  9. They announced several times someone has handed a phone in could be yours?
  10. Circlip looks like the standard oem, depending on the year of this saw they have a slight history with main bearings!
  11. The 555 is the same design as the 560. The main difference is the 555 does not have the crank stuffers fitted. The crank stuffers are what gives the 560XP its "rev boost" decreasing crankcase volume gives slightly better acceleration. The ignition coil is different internally and so is the autotune unit. The carb is exactly the same but the autotune module runs different firmware to suit the engine. They are a very robust saw with not as many issues as the 560. They run cooler for a start

    Autotune

its no different to any other saw. Just either run it out or run some fuel through it that contains a fuel stabiliser. Having a spare bottle of aspen just for this purpose would mean you didn't have to worry tho

    560xp problem

just make sure the spring on the choke lever is set in the correct place as it mates to the carb. Just a case of slackening the two bolts and adjusting. Even dealers get this wrong!
  14. I think it would be best if you left the saw as it comes from the customer and just send it
  15. This isn't a common issue however I to have seen it before but only twice. On both occasions the operator has reported the saw not running clean, a slight misting of exhaust smoke. They should run clean when on good fuel and oil especially on aspen. The saw would also not perform to its maximum but this is also why the carb values are important as you can see how the saw has been running.
  16. I'm sure Husqvarna would be very interested to have a look especially with a failure on a new cylinder. The carb values would also be of interest

    Aspen

Average home owners do have this problem especially at the start Of each season. Most professional users such as many of the guys on here won't because they run machines every day and have a high turn over of fuel. The main benefits of aspen to a professional guy are it's cleaner and better for your health, whether your repairing machines or using them. I use Aspen for everything in our workshop. It's all the company will buy no pump fuel. All our demo kit also runs on Aspen.
  18. People want high power low weight high quality. A very hard balance to get right. They haven't made them cheap they are just answering the customers demands. I have not seen a handle damaged like that before and I've seen a lot of 5 series saws in varying conditions
  19. if you are mechanically inclined there is nothing to replacing the cases your self. Just be careful not to stress the new bearings installing the crank. Also a good time to replace the crankcase stuffers that sit on the crank. These wear and are not expensive.
  20. yep 100% it must have been a 560 block unless he has built his own 550 block but he would of had to do this with parts himself
  21. short block is only available for the 560, 550 will require new cases. an easy repair as bearings and seals come installed from the factory.
  22. Yes your right new saws should just work absolutely agree but when there is a fix you would think they would just get on and fix it and have this guys saw ticking over again that's was the point I was trying to make. 3 times he's had it in for them to diagnose it, not good enough really because if they knew the product they would know the faults. all the information they need is available to them.
  23. The problem isn't the saw, it's the dealers! Most probable cause of poor tick over will be a worn piston ring or it will be stuck into its groove. Using a synthetic oil will help reduce any problems once you get it sorted. It's the dealers that unfortunately give saws a bad name because they can't support the product there selling. Not all dealers but I've come across a hell of a lot of poor ones! So rightly so the customer gets annoyed but then blames the saw when in actual fact the dealer has let you down by not repairing it or knowing how to! Yes the saw shouldnt fail so early on but not all do and that's just luck of the draw, just look at how many new cars have issues but at least the dealers can look after the customer, repair the product in a reasonable amount of time.
  24. I wonder how others have managed, hmmm
  25. yeah the older saws really are good but I just like the design and performance of the 560, 550 ect.
