  1. I doubt they fella climbed so much as five rungs on that ladder before he realized what seemed to be a good idea turned out to be a dangerous idea...
  2. Just looked at the remaining fixtures, something I haven't done in years... I think Leicester might not get another point, but if they do, I think one point should do it.. making Tottenham need two wins, should be enough to unnerve them.. Looking at Tottenham, I can see em getting two draws out the three matches... Get your money on Leicester...
  3. Give it a year or two and he'll be a Thai millionaire..
  4. Its what I'd do, in fact its what I do do...though tree work is only part of what I do..
  5. Do it part time, spring summer and maybe into autumn do tree work.. rest up over the winter...
  6. Thats better... I liked the song as well, nice touch....
  7. looks good enough to eat LOL.. And now, Now I'm gonna make a coffee and have a piece of ma own cake...
  8. Funny thing is, I was talking to someone yesterday about helmets, I don't have one and the fella said, "bet you'd get a camo one if they did em"... hahah, yea, it'd go with my stealth camping equipment.... So, the green one is for me...
  9. How old are you?.... do you think a vsit to the doctor to get a check up might be useful if your gettin on a bit?... As to anything else, I'd just do a couple of hours biking on a couple of weekends before you set off to prime your legs for the trip... Believe me, you don't need to bash out the miles, just a couple of runs to put your legs through it then have em have time to heal.... Its what I did when I did my walk last year, a ten mile walk followed by a fifteen mile walk the weekend after, a week off, then 90 miles over three days..
  10. Well I've just had a right kerfuffle up here, woken up to a phone call asking if I heard anything in the night as my brothers trailers been nicked... After ruminating on possibilities, not to mention suspects, I took a took a deep breath and went out to investigate, to see if any of my tackle had been robbed as well.... Well my trailer was there, now to look for clues about the other ones disappearance.. Went over to look around, and there plain as day was the missing trailer.. The idiot had parked it up in a different spot, came to collect from its usual hiding place, couldn't see it, assumed it had bin nicked and phoned all an sundry to ask if they'd seen anything in the night.... So thats half hour wasted on who needed burying if by chance I'd found out who'd nicked it... Not that in reality thats what I'd end up doin.. more than likely a stern telling off and a promise they wouldn't steal it again... Anyway, my blood pressure's down at least..
  11. Don't you love spellchecker
  12. I'm curious to try a normal pair of spikes.... I might get some in summer to see what its like LOL...
  13. My first thought is it must be better to pivot on one spike than two... to whit, these spikes are a solution to a problem that doesn't exist... thus an expensive waste of time....
  14. Errm, yes a couple of pics would be nice, though I do get what your saying... I never would of thought of doing something like that myself, but seems such a simple solution... I'll be trying the simulate that system at some point during the weekend.. Thank you very much Mick, been a puzzle I've been thinking on for a while..
  15. What I could do with is somethin you can use to lower branches down and then have the thing unhitch itself when the branch is on the floor.. being a one man band, somethin like that would be a great thing to have... And as it happens, I came across a vid, think it was richard mumford and he'd made something along those lines, a shackle connected to a bungee rope and pin... You drop the branch and shake the rope to loose the pin from the shackle.. As it is, I've had to drop a branch, get down the tree and untie the rope... It isn't something thats bothered me to date, but if I do a bit more tree work, then I think its something I might investigate buying or making myself...
  16. After reading through this thread, it looks to me like your man is doing it all wrong. Whether to wind you up,!!!! or he doesn't quite remember how he was taught to cut a tree is down, is up to you to investigate... I'm going for the wind up merchant.... If your not sure of the correct way, or your fella isn't sure..... tell him to read this thread or look at a thousand and one Utube vids on how to chop down a tree down correctly....
  17. You could try Seddon's on plodder lane Farnworth. they have a bit of kit knocking about.. Not sure what you mean by lowering rope, is it a special sort of rope or something?... They have climbing ropes, so might imagine they'd have "lowering rope"....
  18. LOL,, nice one..... My first ever away game was against Blackburn, be about 18/19 years old at the time. Not even knowing much about football back then and seein it as a day out I was looking forward to the experience... We piled out the back of a rented Luton van, all twenty of us and were promptly chased all over Blackburn by a howling mob of lunatics LOL.. It started my love of football, the passion the tribalism I loved it all... then the rot set in with TV money...
  19. I used to love football at one time, if Bolton lost that was my weekend ruined, so yea, lots of ruined weekends LOL... One woman I was talking to said if her Husbands team lost their whole family had to go into mourning LOL... he supported Blackburn for his troubles... Anyways, due to corruption in the game I've weened myself off it. I've got to the stage were I cancelled my BT subscription for EE because they gave the league a billion quid in sponsorship.. if you think I'm gonna help one player use so much as one penny piece out my pocket you can think again... Back to Leicester City, yea, good for them and next year they're need that luck to avoid relegation..
  20. Been doin a middling sort of sycamore for a couple who I do the church lawns for, though the tree in question was in their own back garden.. I don't suppose it infused them with much confidence when I explained it was only my third tree I'd done using proper climbing tackle...LOL... The job seemed to go well until the fella insisted I rope up a branch were he advised it'd be best to avoid hitting his shed, wasn't to sure myself, and after cutting through it it crashed down onto his shed, luckily no damage... In future I'll be doin the tying off were it suits me... Other than that, been a great day, stopping and starting having a brew up and putting the world to rights with the couple from the church... back tomorrow to tidy up...
  21. That thing looks like it might suit a farmer for something... People seem to forget they're not beyond accepting the odd cheap stolen bit of equipment.. Wouldn't be surprised if thats not where it is at the minute, parked up in a farmers barn waiting for things to cool down...
  22. LOL love the thumbs up at the end.....
  23. What about foxes, do they have the same affect as dogs peeing on a lawn?. What about birds picking at the moss?...or grass looking for worms?... Next door neighbors dog?... The neighbors throwin over somethin onto his lawn?...
  24. LOL, theres another five years in that flipline now...
