    I have a neighbour who swears by rock salt dissolved in water. Says its as good as any chemical he's used.His path and flower beds are always weed free....hmmmm....

    He said feed and weed guys but didnt stipulate what he was doing at that job. The fact he was dressed like a bloody ghostbuster would suggest he was spraying weeds with a potentially harmful chemical id say...

    The risk is minimal if all the precautions are taken as taught in the pesticide application courses. The fella who just got a big pay out in the states was actually covered in undilluted glyphosate,twice! He spilled it on himself.... If all the precautions and ppe are adhered to then its no more carcingenic than bacon!

    Its a shame the industry places such importance in completion of courses rather than actual ability. Know a few guys with no tickets but great with chainsaws...

    Personally i dont see any harm in it but its not the type of rope used for bridges so put your hand in your pocket and buy the manufacturers recommended,fit for purpose bridge you tight arse!

    Use roundup,its still glyphosate but has a lower content of active ingredient and a wee bit safer.Your spraying indoors so wear a mask.

    I really dont see srt as the god send method as some make it out to be. Granted im still at the "fannying around" stage and as such no expert, but ive climbed srt enough to realise its merits just as ddrt has its uses and merits. Too each his own.     Yeah just spread em out and mow over em on a high setting with no box. This only works on light cuttings so for anything heavier/thicker you'll need a scag or flail mower.

    Look at francital range of chainsaw trousers also you can pick up some bargains on ebay for 2nd hand stihl/husky trousers.

    Just wanted some advice on buying a carving bar and chain. Ive been carving mushrooms and toadstools,chairs and a few other things but i really want to practice and improve. I use a standard 180 with a full chiz chain and a 150 with a full chiz chain. Whats the best bar/chain combo to go for. Go easy on me guys im new to this... Tia

    The echo 2511 top handled chainsaw.Theres an indepth, epic thread on here called tiny echo chainsaw. Really good little saws once you get the 150 bar and chain on it. Actually the thread started with the echo 2510 but that was pulled by the manufacturer and replaced by the 2511.

    You can buy a shoulder attatchment for the sequoia srt harness,stops big saws pulling your harness down. Tm's a good all round harness and good reports about the courant koala aswell

    Your employer has a duty of care over employees and is legally obliged to provide a rescue climber. Real world,not all do and even those that do provide a groundie with a rescue ticket,some of em havent climbed regular so would be of no use in a worst case scenario.

    From what ive been told your not the only one to have experienced this issue with the newer husky saws. I wouldnt get one either not riskin gettin a lemon...

    Too answer my own thread from some years back,ive had a 150 for some time now,and i still use my zubat. Long live the silky!!

    Yeah i do that sometimes over targets, wires etc or back cut on snappy wood like alder and sycamore

    Your travelling costs should be factored into your day rate/hourly rate which ever you choose to opt for.
