  1. Eaten all the ginger nuts.....oooohhhhhh the humanity!
  2. I love bad day stories, as long as they're not REALLY bad.
  3. Hi Geoff, did you ever get a mewp? Looking around myself wondering what your conclusions were.
  4. Yep, a grand is nothing, anything half decent is 3 to 4k
  5. Well done Ti, I worry about that stuff:biggrin:
  6. Bingo! If it's a good un, its a fair price. Check the veracity of the new flywheel/bearings combo.
  7. Very good Stubby, funny and obscure. Post of the week winner for me:biggrin:http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/tup
  8. Topping trees, tut tut tut.
  9. 2500 is quite a lot for a machine like that. 6k maybe
  10. Some people make their own luck, I've had more than one client grumble about their neighbour's habit of popping round to chat with tradesmen with the aim of getting a little job done on the cheap. I'll do it of course if I've time and the money is right, I can see how it might irk the original client.
  11. Very nice! I got mesh sides on mine, wish I'd got those.
  12. #conclusion btw I'll admit the logic is a little tortured...but....if you were to come out to do a quote for the neighbours you would charge more for the little job i.e. you would have charged £150 as a minimum but they'd get it for £50 for example ergo they got the job on the cheap because you'd already made your days money on the original client. They've saved themselves 100 quid. The original client paid full price, they didn't. Many people will use this tactic to get stuff on the cheap.
  13. It will be on a plate somewhere near the door frame.
  14. Fair enough. They can hybidize apparently. (I seem to remember finding that out in a similar conversation years ago)
  15. Looks like goat willow to me, Killing that by pruning alone would be an achievement.
  16. Very hard topping 20/25 years ago at a guess btw.
  17. You'll stop wanting to do that after a while, I guarantee it:001_smile:
  18. Whilst I'm struggling to work out what we're arguing about..... Let's not forget that when we are working on a tree and we do the tiny job for the next door neighbour for buttons, it's actually the original client who is effectively paying for the work.
  19. I know, there's something to be said for supporting your country's manufacturing industry.
  20. No experience of this model at all, but every French farmer seems to own one round here, so congratulations, great piece of kit.
  21. Nice machine and pro looking outfit.
