  1. Well. Give us a picture then. Ordered one myself before xmas.
  2. Let me give you an example. I'm a keen, albeit amateur, naturalist, since moving to France from south east England I have personally seen, pine martens, a polecat, stoats, weasels, foxes, badgers and a genet, (Run over sadly) and raptor wise, Sparrow Hawks, hen harriers, buzzards, Red Kites, short toed Eagles and a goshawk (I think!) Now all these prey species could not survive for more than one generation unless there was sufficient prey. My point is predators are indicative of a healthy ecosystem not a broken one. I can however see that in a nature reserve with vulnerable species I can understand that certain "destructive" species like foxes and some mustelids must be kept out or trapped.
  3. I wouldn't worry about it, you've got a good video of yourself at work. Let him use it It's nice tidy work though.
  4. So what if rabbit populations are kept low? Is that a bad thing? Not that I believe you about local extinctions. Buzzards can eat worms, frogs and all sorts of small mammals. You say goshawks and peregrines are increasing, surely that's a good thing? A sign of a healthy system. Earlier in the thread you wrote disparagingly about "bunny huggers" you beginning to sound an awful lot like one.
  5. Increasing its range, at least in the south east, buzzards and red kites.
  6. Get under with a wire brush and clean the contacts, then check charge and contacts on the battery.
  7. Another classic.[ame] [/ame]
  8. Here's one of his best, which is saying something.[ame] [/ame]
  9. I always felt it was slightly incongruous and silly.
  10. Vibes are a killer, but it'll do the job.
  11. My first topper was an Efco, it was not fit for purpose, wouldn't tick over/gutless/bitch to start, I bought a Stihl and literally threw the Efco away. Buy an Echo, they're good, proper saws, not as good as the big two but good enough.

    Battery

Get a new one. IME = in my experience.

    Battery

IME, once modern batteries go, they go, just get a new one.
  14. I think loading brush into that whilst it was on the trailer at that height would get pretty old pretty quickly. Plus because it hasn't got a bottom stop bar and its above 600 mm (I think that's the limit) above the ground there might be h&s implications. Just my thoughts mind.
  15. Well it's difficult to understand your rather mixed message, you bemoan the decline of rabbits, seriously? Firstly I don't believe for one second they are in any trouble, and even if they were, they are an introduced species, you do know that don't you? They are suffering from predation are they? I tell you what lets eliminate some predators, pine martens eat them I hear, start with them. What's the name of the nature reserve?
  16. Well, this is an odd turn to a 4 year old thread.
  17. How is the wildlife totally screwed in the uk?
  18. Yep, I agree, got some olduns, good for a laugh and as a back up. I'll always go for the newer ones given the choice.
  19. The only thing that worries me about that is various baubles and wire going through the chipper.
  20. I live a lot further south than you so diesel, tolls, wear and tear on the vehicles time away from my dog and time off work all need to be placed in the "not worth it column" Chippers and grinders, well that's a different matter.
  21. Yep, I cannot countenance buying and " immatriculating" Any other vehicles over here, plus the strength of the pound renders it pointless.
  22. I took a old fahioned photo to show my dad a couple of years ago, and, like you, he tried to enlarge it with his fingers, he was 85.
