  1. Anyone with a CS100 can tell me if the blade/anvil gap be adjusted. Is it shims as there are 2 thin plates with 4 holes in the spares bin. And another similar but a 45 degree kink, without holes which could be a gap gauge. The guy who brought it around was going to show me but I was out at the time & no manual:001_rolleyes:. If anyone knows this I'd appreciate help as I think the gap is too big. Also...how is the blade cassette removed. Thanks in advance.
  2. Girl arbs...whatever next?
  3. Wow thats tough. Sounds like they cleared you out. Scum, pure scum.
  4. Good post Dean & well done.
  5. Ta, enjoyed watching that.
  6. And they say keyless, remotes etc is the way forward. Like having no spare tyre in most new cars. Progress???Pah.
  7. First one I've seen ready for work.
  8. The big army recruitment van rang their generals. I told them we wouldn't if he sped up.
  9. Just this one for trees, but others for motorbike, Land Rover & shooting. Why use another when the spread of knowledge is this good?
  10. Ok thanks. It'll go in our little yard then.
  11. Can't help re cost of labour/parts on a tranny but sounds like maybe the clutch release bearing is failing. Its usually replaced when fitting a new clutch but someone here will know more n me.
  12. Heard about sounding mallets...are they anything special or just a wooden/rubber?
  13. As the title...we've got a 100' lime tree to fell & wondered how it burns, once split & left for a year or so. Didn't want to store it if its unsuitable but I'm thinking that all wood burns once dry?
  14. Have only done small areas of clearance but I used spray paint or notching to be certain we understood each other. I guess a marked drawing would be 'belt 'n braces' so can only be a good thing, to protect all parties of comeback/misunderstanding.
  15. A place here is well known locally for grafting fruit trees, pear/apple mainly, combining different qualities like stopping fruit bruising when stored/dropped.
  16. Interesting but forgive my ignorance...is the idea to combine characteristics from each plant?
  17. Looked at a job today, just 3 small (8" dia) sycamores to come down & gave him a price which he accepted. I'd previously done the tpo check which was clear but the garden is in a conservation area. Me "Just complete the permission form online, theres no charge". Him "Oh can't we just claim ignorance?". Me "Err, no, fill in the form & when I see permission is given we'll happily do the job". Him "Oh I didn't know you'd be so picky". Us "See you". Customers eh?
  18. No idea re price but I think some modern vans/trucks look fragile & overblinged appearing 'unworkmanlike'. No doubt just an unfounded observation.
  19. 6' 9" & Pfanners fit us.

    Bed

Great gesture & looks a fine bed.
  21. What, like 'Trim yer bush missus while I'm here?"
  22. Whats the job? We're a small (one team) fledgling business 10 miles from there. Good? We think so.
  23. Good job. Good vid too.
  24. We used ex NI army lwb v8s as armoured police gun platforms in the 90s. Trouble was while the engine could just about cope with the weight, the brakes couldn't , used to have to plan ahead to avoid fade but was a real hoot otherwise.
  25. John, I read that re curtilage etc when we had dealings with the conservation office. It seems it's open to slight interpretation as a previous CO we had was OTT. He wouldn't agree to our replacement of a couple of rotten sash windows (to be made of the same douglas fir & the exact same pattern) instead insisting we only cut out the rot, which being at the corners & rails would've affected the general integrity & usability. Luckily he was replaced by a more agreeable guy who rolled his eyes when I told him. Don't get me wrong, we knew what we'd taken on & wouldn't want to change the appearance but we'd like to open the windows now & then. Sorry for the derail.
