  1. is it a white or red tractor? And has it got a big plastic control pannel on rhs of cab or look older/basic? There is a switch over valve between depth / height and external control which may be the problem with the lift IMPORTANT:to change it from depth to lift etc the lift lever needs to be all the way to lift so you can hear the pump working against the releif valve or you can break the selector! , if not it could be a stuck hold valve which is under the cab to the right hand side, once he cap is off a piece of dowl and a mallet usually frees them. if it’s a red only with the plastic dash there may be a combining lever for the hyd pumps ( some tractors but not all had twin pumps) if it has twin pumps you can combine the flow to power higher flow machines or separate them to have good lift and good external so you can lift machine and work hyd services to machine at same time on the field headland. If it’s in combined mode it cause strange things with the lift. story if I’m a bit vague is 15+ years since I worked with a 94 series! if you change the back end oil there is a pressure filter on the rear axle but the suction side also has a (washable) screen in the bottom of the gear box that often gets forgotten and can cause probs. this diagram/instructions may be slightly different to the controls you have depending on tractor year but the valve chest and setting should be the same: Selectamatic Hydraulic System DBTC.CO.UK A schematic diagram of the David Brown Selectamatic Hydraulic System. Also a guide to repairs and some other useful tips. The DBTC are indebted to Mr.... the David Brown tractor club forum (all 94 series tractors are David brown just some are painted in case colours as case took over) is very good for info but don’t expect any off topic talk or banter, stiff upper lip old boy! DBTC Forum - David Brown Tractor Forum DBTC.CO.UK I can’t remember the bonnet apart from if the springs/linkage go they are a bitch to change and as a 13 year old shutting yourself fingers in it breaks them ? he best places for parts are: Home | David Brown Parts Ltd WWW.DAVIDBROWNPARTS.COM Home page - Worldwide Parts for David Brown Tractors Untitled Page WWW.BARCLEYWILLIAMS.CO.UK Hope that’s some help, I may be able to help more with a pic of the controls to the rhs of the Seat. as to oil, engine is super universal tractor oil (15w30 or 40), for the back end some will tell you hi-tran (cases own oil) others will say same as the engine poss depends on year and gear box option fitted
  2. I’ve seen this before, it was no drama “ I’ve been travelling for the last few years, my ni number is xxx, this is the last address you had for me, this is my new address please can I have my utr number as I’m setting up as self employed” job done, admittedly that was 10 years ago so there is probably a load more paperwork etc to sort now just to keep a chair polisher in a job ?
  3. @Jack.P The customer wants to see the kids drawing of a tree that’s in there head to feel they got value for money like this: If that’s right or wrong for the tree it’s what will be asked for time and time again, just advise why it’s not good a once they say “I get that but crack on” give them the service they want to pay for, it’s hardly a ancient tree that needs protection from idiots.
  4. Some of the top growth may bend over to tie in to the frame, worth a check before cutting it off.
  5. They are pleached trees, a read here will give you some idea Pleached walks, tunnels and arbours / RHS Gardening WWW.RHS.ORG.UK Pleaching is a method of training trees to produce a narrow screen or hedge by tying in and interlacing flexible young shoots along a supporting framework. Use this technique to make... They could well be hornbeam from the pics but I won’t commit to it, assuming they are as hornbeam is often used for pleached trees. You can not stop the trunk growing but if they are hornbeam they will be relatively slow growing i would of planted them closer together to form a hedge like screen but they could of been planted to screen certain windows
  6. Most definitely not ?, it’s all a risk, the biggest problem is you can't see it to avoid it! Where you draw the line as to what is reasonable risk is the hard part.
  7. But the wife does the shopping ? seriously I think it has got to the point of ”don’t take life to seriously, no one gets out alive anyway” we can’t change it so just be careful and sensible. We’re not working with the tree work at the min
  8. No we can’t, simple as that. The following is just to be pedantic but also thought provoking about cross contamination if the virus lives on surfaces between 24 to 72 hours you can’t send a saw up to the climber, or rigging kit or untie said rigging line for (potentially) 3 days after the climber has touched it tieing it on. For that matter you can’t clear up what the climber has cut n chucked as they have touched it. the saws, tool box and door handles on the truck, the chipper controls, fuel can etc can only be touched by one person. arial rescue at 2m apart ? gloves could help but once one person has a hole a glove or touched here face with the glove there offering little/no protection, is it worth the risk and Agro? so unless you work alone or all come from the same house you can’t social distance properly in tree work This wasn’t written as a rant but to get a watertight risk assessment for Covid19 could be hard going and without one are you leaving your self open to claims from employees/subbies for not keeping them safe? ?

    Covid-19

Vaping linked to teen's 'popcorn lung' type injury WWW.BBC.CO.UK Canadian doctors who treated the teen say the injury is unlike vaping-related illnesses in the US. I think the true extent of the health damage from vapes will show in a few years time, all new things are safe until proven otherwise ?
  10. White and chocolate David brown should be early 70s at a guess ? im guessing at a 990 by the wheel height and with a power loader, a big cost option when it was new ? just seen I was beaten to it sorry
  11. He problem is Andy if you need to sell your charger because there is no work no other bugger will have the cash to buy it. ?
  12. Catch it, makes a good wine, or similar. Have also heard of it being used to sweeten tea or watered down if you don’t like it neat. it normally stops in a couple of days but occasionally lasts up to a week, quite possibly linked to how much moisture it is up taking from the ground.
  13. Can’t imagine there wouldn’t be much of a que for boris’s job at the minute ?
  14. Never mind the fans, is that a Ford FW in the background? ?

Unless I’ve missed something it’s a Easy number. Edit: missed you couldn’t fit in the gap sorry, Steve has the solution, or eco plug just blow roof height, never tried this but can’t see why it wouldn’t work
  22. That would put a stop to most of the cowboys and level the playing field ? also if your not a registered user you can’t buy a chain saw would push the value of our work up ? could be a win win answer providing we don’t need two ropes to register ?
  23. @AA Teccie (Paul) this needs reading out at the meeting, it’s the best description I’ve seen that a layman who doesn’t really know what we do can look at and say that’s utter madness what are the hse thinking?
  24. Check the spring on the throttle and guvnor arms I’ve seen them fail on the Honda engines causing low power and hunting/rev problems.
  25. Cracking picture ? edited just to say WELL? What is it we are waiting for? I’m beginning to think it will be a bus and there will be 3 of them
