  1. The peruzo tracked chipper. Cheap for what its capabilities and build quality are. It will go just about anywhere you will run out of balls before the machine gives up? and it chips well. no it won’t replace a bigger roller fed chipper but on long straight material at about 3inch it gives the forst a run for its money, forget the twisty or forky stuff at speed, that takes longer but concidering you have no drag because the chipper is at the tree it’s bang on the money in the right situation. All in all a pro small chipper that does exactly what it says on the tin, a great compliment to our 8 inch machine Speak to Dan at @equip4ind for more info, he is a good guy providing good service https://equipment4industry.com/collections/chippers-1/products/tb100-c-tracked-drum-chipper
  2. They fall out the scabbard twice as easy, arnt nice to hold, don’t stay sharp and snap if you get them nipped in a cut and give it a little persuasion to free it. Ultimately they end up getting chucked in favour of a new silky, silky may be pricey but the best always is. That said if your doing a few small pruning jobs a year there prob fine but a full on climber will get frustrated with it very quickly. Just my experience and others may feel differently but I won’t be turning my back on silky after trying a cheaper alternative again any time soon.
  3. Don’t know where to say to source a axle, but our old st6 scrubbed tyres out, our st8 has had a new axle as it sat drunk was about a inch n half lower one side! Some one at forst admitted they had problems with the axle mount deforming slightly and the newer ones have had the design changed slightly, that may be worth checking out if it’s a repeat problem.
  4. These chippers will go just about anywhere ? we got the body with ours but that’s sat waiting to be modified, as the time to lift the chipper off the tracks to swop it over kills it. I’m going to make it tow behind the chipper so it will chip and extract on tight sites
  5. I did ask this a couple of month back and was told it was on the list to do, shame there not working the fungi app was excellent

  10. One short saying for haggling customers sometime they don’t like it and are rude, others don’t like it and give you the job, some like it and give you the job “If you can’t afford my level of skill and service I wish you all the best finding a contractor that suits your needs” it it stops the haggling anyhows ?
  11. Fix Often Repeatedly Shouting Tourette’s
  12. 30 - 40ft stick (assumed from trees in background) to climb and dismantle and you want someone to turn up hump climbing kit to the tree(again assuming from the background you can’t drive to the tree) climb it and dismantle it for £150 by the time they have done that and humped gear back to truck and got to the next job there is half a day gone. any one legit will have a second climber and kit on site to be legal and there fore insured. So 2 people for half a day plus fuel cost, insurance etc etc labour £120 (2x half day) fuel £15 (saw and travel) insurance. £10 (truck and pl/el) wear and tear on kit £?? other over heads £?? all costs assumed but no thanks I will stay home if I’m earning earn nowt ? straight fell on the way home possibly but now you have flicked my switch im not interested ? everyones overheads are different but stop and think before saying he is trying to rob you, also considering a full time climbers kit bag will prob be a min of a grands worth of kit ???

  20. These haven’t been working since the Mac iOS11 update, is there going to be a update @Steve Bullman There is probably something simple that I’ve not done but I’m a bit of a Luddite with this tech stuff ? at the moment this is all we can get?
  21. My Grandfather used to talk about a fuel/oil pipeline running from bentwaters air base when it existed to somewhere (I can’t recall wear as was prob 25-30 year ago) but Clare is a fair way from Bentwaters! (My family are from your neck of the woods)
  22. Just take a new blade out of its packet and give your self a light tap across a finger or 2 with it before fitting it, once they have had blood there happy if you fail to do this you might as well book a spot in for stitches before you start. we have all done it just take care, they cut flesh as quick as a chain and rope quicker. They are like animals you should always watch out for the quite ones

  25. It’s remotely retrievable like a cambium saver, ball is same as role guide so can pull it out and to you from other side of tree or the floor. I find it handy if you want to work a distance from the rigging point and drop zone (multiple gardens etc) and don’t need to return to retrieve it
