  1. I always liked this: Teufelberger 8mm Ocean Polyester Eye2Eye Hitch | Honey Brothers HONEYBROS.COM Teufelberger 8mm Ocean Polyester Eye2Eye Hitch from Honey Brothers. The largest equipment specialist in the tree care industry. you may need the 10mm version for 13mm rope, I’m on 11. Knot wise I liked the knut before going to a zigzag. I would have to stop and think how to tie it now 🤔
  2. @the village idiot Is that you?
  3. We used a 2 part epoxy paint but had to use a acid wash first, that was just poured out and brushed round with a broom. If I remember rightly we had to leave it 48hrs after the acid wash then hose it off and leave it to dry again for a few days. (The floor was only a month old at the time) It’s worn well but has chipped from metal and machines on it in small patches and flaked from a small brake fluid spill. Non of the damage has spread from the initial damage.
  4. How deep is the drop? Can you drop a few trunks in to drive over and remove them at the end? If you use big stuff the water should still flow in a small ish stream.
  5. I would agree with Steve it well on its way. As it is all but dead the chance of it coppicing is very slim to non existent IMO. If I was was looking at it as a job the question wouldn’t be to fell or not it would be “do you want the stump ground out so you can replant?” On the plus side beech is very good firewood, if you have got a wood burner?
  6. First question is what sort of pine? You might get a few first lengths off as saw logs, ask your local mill first, if you have a lorry load you can look further afield
  7. I seem to remember needing a felling bar, for rear weighted split level cut and releasing your hung up tree. If your buying one I would recommend a longer one if budget allows, my short one has been hung on the wall for years gathering dust but the long one lives in the truck.
  8. My first was a 72 mini pick up with a 1275gt engine in, I left the rear subframe behind on landing after a hump back bridge between Melton and Woodbridge in Suffolk. The second was a mk1 golf gti campaign edition that cost me £1400 to insure 3rd party only (I was 18 and earning £185 a week minus 40 lodgings!) A friend of mine parked it in a tree 🤬 The one I wish I parked in a barn was the Porsche 914-6 sold for £375 and a mk2 golf gti which I sold next day for 500 and brought a Nissan pulsar gti-r with the proceeds plus a bottle of jack Daniels, I felt like a king in 2002 at 20 year old, 😂
  9. It’s designed to brake if anything goes wrong to protect the engine or pump from the other blowing up. I would be more worried why it’s broke than the fact it has gone.
  10. My thoughts would be: Drop the fence, fell each stem at the bowl just above fence height then put the wire back up. The pic looks like they are all reasonably weighted towards the field, if not could you pull them with a winch/machine/truck etc? Willows like that will grow back from any and all butchery so don’t stress about being gentle with them as they will just grow!
  11. Speak to your local tree teams when the truck is full and the customer wants the site cleared, someone like you that collect a load can be a god send however this is normally short notice.

  14. Sending good wishes to his family, its always the nice guys that leave to soon.
  15. You could use an electric diverter so when you hold the button in the Pedal does the other circuit. using the hammer line you will probably need a in line flow restrictor.
  16. Met my wife, these island girls are as bad as the fen ones, they just get a nose bleed past Portsmouth instead of above sea level 🤣 There was no way she would leave here, can’t even go to other end of the rock with out passport
  17. Wish him luck, type c trousers and 2 rope working make me glad I’m not training now!
  18. @Sethhumphreys1994 sorry for the derail, hope the work hunt goes well 👍
  19. Middle of no where (carrot town) between Ely and Huntingdon. I’m a Suffolk lad really tho, family all over east anglia.
  20. Oi I grew up in the fens 😢 On reflection I see your point the fens are a poo hole 😂
  21. I would say the blade shows the machine has had a hammering and not used as intended, or had done more work than you were led to believe. One job? What was it a heap of pallets inc the nails?
  22. I think it is only fair the company you are questioning the service of has the chance to reply themselves @Timberwolf Official
  23. Would you be so kind as to point me in the right direction to find this on line? I definitely don’t know enough on the subject and the local batt man can be some what over the top at times to say the least
