  1. Depends on the tread pattern & weight I suppose I used to race an unofficial cyclocross league and had different tyres for different course conditions. Narrow tyres with wide spaced knobbles & deep tread were better in mud for traction than wider mtb tyres that got clogged up with mud and spread weight to much to dig in to the harder mud under the sloppy surface mud

  10. Whats so good about magnesuim piston? Both more durable & lighter?
  11. Yeah logs need to fit the wagon bolsters so don't cut to short if selling roadside

  13. Yeah know loads of people who never climb but bought them as there nice little saws. Farmers homeowners etc also use zero PPE. I don't bother mentioning to them them anymore about the difference between a topper and a rear handle saw etc...

    Brenig smock

    Thanks for info sounds good. I have a brenig javelin type pile jacket which is has lasted for the last 10yrs plus but not on there website. They do cheaper a high viz forestry smock also Forestry Smock - Brenig BRENIG.CO.UK A simple garment, but one which works extremely well for tree surgeons, forestry workers and many others.

  18. Ive had the same happen with chains whilst cutting blackthorn scrub jumping off bar. Think new chains are worse as more "snatchy" I think ideal chain for smaller diameter would be 1/4 pitch or maybe an anti kickback type. Bit like a high tpi silky (fine tooth) does a smoother cut on smaller diameter branches

  21. How about some kind of passive solar heating designed into building with wood store built into it? Also if extension is really well insulated will be warm enough without burning as much logs etc Alot of logs in house =could be a big adittional fire risk any thing in building regs about it maybe?
  22. Theres some battery combi i units around now also. Being looking at the makita combi cordless one so can share batteries I like my hegde trimmer but not used battery pole saw though I think there was a thread on the husky one being good.
