Dunno must be millions of theese across UK littering the countryside always amazes me how people just turn a blind eye to them when you see 1000's strangling hegdes and trees and many just blowing around on floor amongst tree planting schemes. I stick them sometimes in the domestic black bin in small batches not ideal.... Was a thread about them before.... I'd like to know a source of eco ones if you can get them anywhere....

Ask different conservationists from different bodies they probably would all want different management to benefit the bats/doormice/butterflies/red squrriels etc. Local wildlife trust don't like trees all there work is clearing scrub from all there reserves which are mostly lowland heath and fens, so constantly cutting back birch heather gorse brambles and willow as all theese sites naturally want to become woodland. I think alot of people have got something slightly irrational against scrub sees a hated vegetation amongst conservationists. Maybe as the word "scrub" doesn't sound very apealing. Should call it baby forest instead?
  10. Yeah offshoring C02 output from all thoose imports is cheating. I think gimlet has it right population is the issue. Population seems a dirty world for enviromentalists to mention as (Pol Pot one child policy etc anyone?) UK 's at the top rest of world aspire to get there .... Don't see how all theese zero carbon by 2030 plegdes etc will ever be meet, when world its going the other direction atm, unless some miracle new technologies comes along with fusion power or AI. Bascially were all doomed! ?

Even if the UK goes zero carbon fast won't impact alot globally i agree But if UK could try to be a place that leads by example it might show its possible and inspire other countries to do more.
