  1. This! Probably more likely to just fall over than the stems or branches break.
  2. Says here horse chestnut is great for burning ! Normally people say it is shit. Me and a mate have burnt quite a lot and it’s fine. I might know where there is 150 tons all cut to 2.3m if anyone wants it
  3. The pitch is exactly the same 3/8. The gauge is different 0.58/ 0.63- like stubby says it will rock in the bar, not ideal but it would work. Your best bet is to buy another husky rather than a stihl[emoji106]
  4. That’s a blast from the past! Dick Bradshaw used to teach me at Newton rigg! He must be past retirement age by now tho say hello from will heal if you see him

  12. Hi mark, sorry to hear this, you never think it’s going to happen to you and when it does it’s a real kick in the bollocks. Can’t help with any saws as I haven’t any spare but I have an 18inch timberpro from eBay and for less than £100 it’s an ok saw. Hope you get sorted soon

  16. About 15 years ago when I was young and stupid/inexperienced I cut a large beech limb off in one. Put in a small gob and started the back cut and then BANG! The limb barber chaired and nearly took my head off! Scared the shit out of me! I was lucky it didn’t kill me. If I was to do that limb again today I would take some weight off the end first. Be safe!!
  17. It’s ducking crazy! Wood chips used to go from my bosses yard onto lorries bound for Europe. Hopefully brexit will stop this and make our island more self sufficient but I doubt it
  18. Great pictures as always David , All I have to offer is some dog vomit! [emoji23]
  19. That’s a very sexist generalisation!! My girlfriend goes out of her way to buy veg without packaging. If more people were like her then there would be less plastic wrap around Most people are lazy and just pick up what is quickest and easiest, supermarkets cater for this but supermarkets could just have all their fruit and veg loose for you to put in a paper bag then people would have to not be so lazy. If supermarkets did actually care about the environment then they would do more, but they are only concerned with profits. The only answer is for people to stop shopping in Tesco and the like, but they won’t will they? Cos people are lazy and follow others like sheep.
  20. I used bitumen paint on mine
  21. Think this pub in wales could do with some new skittles! Never seen plastic ones before!
  22. I’ve mended fuel tanks with araldite before
  23. Bad luck mate, climbing ain’t for everyone though a good groundy is worth what you are charging good luck mate
  24. Looks like strimmer damage to me, well done for moving unwanted apple trees to where they are wanted and it’s good that 3 of the 4 have done well. All you can do is give that tree some time to recover, mulch around the base of it, plenty of water, maybe a bit of a feed and see how it does next year
