  1. It wasn’t my job, I was asking for someone else, not sure whether it did get done or not
  2. Been using both recently, what you want is a cross between the two. If only forst would replace the touch buttons with the Timberwolf buttons it would be a great machine! I wonder weather you could do that yourself
  3. I won £100 arborwear voucher in the Arbtalk Xmas raffle about 4 years ago. Got myself 4 green polo shirts with my name and logo embroidered on them, so comfy, stain resistant and hard wearing great shirts!
  4. My cousin is putting in an application to build on this plot and has asked me for advice on whether or not the building will affect the trees or the trees will affect the building? I’m not sure which. I think he wants a letter from an arboricuturalist saying the building won’t affect the trees. Is there anyone in the bide/Bideford/hart land area who could perhaps give him some advice? By the looks of it the trees are just scrappy hedgerow trees, nothing special
  5. £4 in Morrisons ☹️
  6. Mines rolled into an old type mini tyre, bit smaller and not as bulky as you think, it’s a good way to store it
  7. Thanks Gareth, will give you a ring
  8. I have an entec ch18 petrol chipper, 2001 model. The spline drive in the feed roller rounded off the other day. As you can see it is welded in so I bought a new roller body, and spline drive to replace it. The old blades fit onto the new roller body but the new roller body won’t fit inside the roller housing as it is about 12mm too wide. Am I missing something here? Or are the newer roller housings wider? Has anybody sorted this before? Can I just bolt the spline drive on and then just cut 12mm off or can I get a new spline drive welded into the old roller body? Will get it all done professionally but can anyone recommend anyone to do near either Abergavenny or Marlborough? Want to get it sorted cos I’m thinking of selling it soon. Thanks Will
  9. Creosote mixed 50/50 with black oil would solve the problem. It would all be the same colour and also last forever!
  10. Avoiding allergens in food is harder than you think. My girlfriend is lactose intolerant, any dairy gives her a bad tummy extremely quickly. For example if someone stirs a milky drink with a spoon and then stirs hers with the same spoon she is ill. We eat out quite a lot, we always make a point of checking. She gets ill at least once a week. She eats the vegan option sometimes and sometimes these have dairy in them! If you need to avoid it then basically you have to make it yourself from scratch, and not kiss anyone who’s just drunk tea with milk in it! I now have oat milk in my tea
  11. Looks like ditch elm disease do they have that in the USA?
  12. Garden hire spares
  13. Levi 501’s, if I’m not wearing chainsaw trousers. I buy them second hand off of eBay, comfy cool and fairly hard wearing
  14. You can hire a chipper from a4 hire in Hungerford for £150 a day, I guess you have a tow bar on your 4x4. Or cheapest option is to burn it

    Arson ?

Maybe just the chip self combusting, but I bet it looked a picture
  16. That machine looks horrendous!
  17. Maybe have a small bonfire
  18. My girlfriend lives there, so moving to be with her, it would be handy to have a few people to contact, thanks!
  19. I am moving to Abergavenny in April and will be looking for climbing or ground work. At the moment I live in Wiltshire and I do a mix of my own work and subbing to other tree surgeons. I’ve been climbing for 10 years and have all my climbing tickets and HGV license. Have all my own kit including saws, climbing and rigging kit, 4x4 pick up and Pedestrian stump grinder. Pm me on here or my number is 07917725646 Thanks Will
  20. Thanks
  21. My girlfriend is starting to make silver & gold jewellery, here are a few of her pieces. The big ring she gave me for my birthday with trees on is sandcast, hence the rustic look! The other ring is also sand cast formed by hawthorn twigs we collected in the Forest of Dean with a sapphire set in it and the necklace is made to look like ivy, I think they’re great, but what does everyone think of them
  22. Wasn’t suggesting stock net, just plain wire. We fenced fields for ponies on exmoor with it. Personally I can’t see the problem with using barbed, stop the buggers rubbing it so much
  23. Bridgemans at Newton st petroc would as good a place as any to buy it.
