    Torque =???

    Stubby`s on it, torque turns wheels. HP is pub talk to impress mates Edit. Torque and where its made in the rev range are where you need to be looking. Torque is worthless if you need to scream the nuts off an engine to achieve it. Bob
  2. If the winch rope is spooled to run under the drum through the spades it will pull the tractor into the ground. If the rope is spooled to come over the top of the drum and spades the tractor will flip. Bob
  3. A Boughton would be ideal, its finding one thats the problem. Bob
  4. Dont mention that 038AV Barrie:laugh1: Bob
  5. There are some oldies in there Johny, a lot of those big old XP Huskys have not been used for donkeys years , I fueled them up and with a few pulls they were away. Our lads wont use them because they are heavy by todays standards so I am going to flog a load of them. Bob

  10. I bought and paid for this Stihl ms 390 chainsaw | eBay The guy went to get it out of his lockup and it was gone, that or he didnt want to sell it. I did get the refund. Bob
  11. HSE have plenty of cases like this where they have prosecuted for dangerous working practices. This is an extreme case but an indication of the tools they have at hand, unlikely they would go for it just for the top handle though. Barking: Gardener fined £6,000 after neighbour snapped him perched on treetop while holding chainsaw | Daily Mail Online. Bob
  12. No its not against " the Law " because there are none regarding the use of saws. We have HSE and industry standard guidelines that forbid the use of them, within the industry and on commercial contracts the use of a top handle on the floor would invariably get the operator or even the main contractor slung off the job. Should an injury occur because of the use of one these saws on the ground some insurers may decline a claim. For private work sweet FA applies. Bob
  13. Another nice and tidy addition to the fleet there Rhys:001_cool: Bob
  14. No problem Mr Block, get some next week Bob
  15. I know the OP is not Happy I dont know which one he is either but surely he could go into somewhere like FR Jones and get a better fitment. Ordering stuff that you have not tried on invariably ends in disappointment. Bob
  16. All the timber bolsters are made up, Hiab is all properly mounted now as is the winch. Needs bringing back from the other yard so it can be piped up and the brakes done.So its very close Bob

  19. So there`s the last stick that wont quite go through the chipper and the groundsaws are in the truck 50mts away but the climbers saw is just sat there winking at you............ Edit. You are right of course. Bob
  20. Is there anyone here that they can say hand on heart that they have never used a top handle saw on the ground?? I wont hang around for a reply Bob
  21. If you register on Uship and then post up your shipping requirements you will get about a dozen very competitive quotes from various logistic companies within a few hours. They are vetted by Uship. Bob

  24. Come on then Jon, 40 minutes have past so what have you been up to?. I dont want to know about the mucky stuff between you and Sonia Bob
  25. Its probably the right choice of machine Big J, the modern equivalents are full of electronic trickery that lock out at the slightest sniff of something too heavy. I used a newish JCB on site recently and it was pathetic compared to old our school FDI, buzzers and lights flashing all over the place, then refusing to move until you play fair Bob
