  1. But he is a good subby Stubs Bob
  2. Someone devoid of any morals driving a Suzuki 4x4 off roader did a drive by theft of an 020 and ground saw belonging to one of our subbys monday of this week. They were in the woods when the truck drove past ,the driver grabbed them off the side of the track and sped off. Bob
  3. I know just doing it is risky but we work a lot of woodlands and there are hundreds of "illegally" built cabins with folk living in them dotted about . One I happened across yesterday is under construction in the middle of a massive clump of Rhody. Bob
  4. If its in a secluded spot away from prying eyes just do it and keep your head down. As a friend of mine says "it's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission". Most LPA`s have a " the answer is no what is the question" policy. Bob
  5. Fair play to you Olly. Just out of interest was there a reason not to just winch it over? Bob
  6. One meter deep in chalk topped off with 300mm of road planings = No mud despite over a hundred vehicle movements a day. Bob
  7. Very nice Dan, I like the dragon. Bob
  8. We use these poly ones James. Euro Plastic - Truck Tool Boxes & Storage - Truck Boxes & Grit Bins Dont under estimate the weight that can end up in them , they need a couple of sturdy lumps of angle to bolt too. You also need big washers with a drop of silicone under them to hold them on and stop the water getting in. Bob
  9.:lol: Its gonna be a long night
  10. My nippers a farrier and we get tons of these shoes filling up the scrap bins , if anyone here can weld and be a bit creative I am sure they could be put to use. A lot of them will need denailing. Going begging.:001_smile:PM or call if you want some, seems a shame to weigh them in Bob
  11. We get about three months of this ride swiping a year, I have set up a side shunt flail mower that cuts about two feet outside of the wheel one side of the tractor. No more falling into the ditch, AJ gets into a tiz when this happens Its an old nuffield, no glass or cab, just a tin lid ,its 100% vandal/ leave it in the woods between jobs proof. Quite important with kids about this time of the year:thumbdown: Ram shunts mower about 2 feet, its also beefy enough to cope with the odd hidden stump
  12. Same here Steve, hell would freeze over before they got to collect that from me. Bob
  13. I know a lot of the security problems arise from having yards in the middle of nowhere so you can have a dumping ground/yard combo. Would it not pay for some of you guys to rent a secure yard where you know gear will be safe and make alternative arrangements for dumping the crap.? Bob
  14. A friend of mine up the road has a big lump of chain concreted into the ground which he throws round one of the hubs and padlocks ( cant be seen), the tow bar drops onto one of those locking posts. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=195620&stc=1&d=1450632587
  15. Where we are in Surrey is good but its way too busy for a quiet life, when I knock it on the head I will go south east or south west where I wont get bothered by folk who just want this or that. Bob
  16. Chequered shirt, beard ? Bob
  17. Ians nailed this. Its the illegal use of guns in the US that makes people feel the need for protection, its turned into a dog eat dog situation. They need to get super tough on illegal gun crime before they can disarm the vulnerable public though. Bob
  18. Some of the pubs are hot on the trail ............... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=195597&stc=1&d=1450605223
  19. We get shafted for everything this end of the country agrimog, the best price I had for a screen and fitting was around £250. All the good deals are oop north:thumbdown: Bob
  20. Dont forget the 100 hours community service Gary Bob
  21. Mog screen got hammered by incompetent golfers stray balls while out working on the course a while ago, a young lad starting out in glasss came over and cut/ fitted a new one for £175, Chuffed:thumbup1: Cut on site
  22. Its a neat idea but steel winch rope needs large diameter pulley blocks correctly sized for the rope or its fatigue life will be very short. Rope blurb liftech Bob
  23. An eight ton winch on its own will pull back almost any tree if you can get the rope high enough , the bigger problem is stopping the winch vehicle being dragged forward. I spent all afternoon yesterday pulling back big pine windblown hung up trees with the winch on the front of the Massey and thats only a six ton. That was enough to pull them over including the root plate. You would need one mother of an anchor to secure a true 16 ton of line pull. Bob
  24. Its embarrassingly ott Eggs, I will pm some pics. Bob
