  1. Assuming he is a loyal and trusted member of the team and not the sort to be crying wolf I would take him home. You should treat others in much the same way you expect to be treated yourself. Bob
  2. How are going to manage this one then Stubbs, have you got a carer to mind him? Bob
  3. Kinell Stubbs this is not good, does he have plenty of family around to take care of him? Bob
  4. It does make you wonder when you think how close the guys are sometimes I am sure Jonny is more than capable of putting that right . The jonsered grab on the truck seems a bit beefier around that area, its certainly an area I will pay a bit more attention to when checking these grabs over. arb garb 068.jpg (96.4 KB)
  5. If you check out the weight distribution of the two types of truck you will find the twin wheeler far more forgiving on the split. Bob
  6. Its and old stihl disc cutter with the saw conversion from yesteryear. I have one:blushing: I would like to see anyone use that with one hand so cant really be classed as a top handle. Bob
  7. Jon the guys on the street doing the job are the least of your worries, there will be five or more men polishing chairs with their arses in a warm office somewhere overseeing all this work. The guy moving signs on the TM may need a spotter if the traffic is anything like it is around here when working roadside. Bob
  8. Jon have you been on the cizzer this morning? Bob
  9. Did it fall out of a copy of plumpers monthly Bob
  10. Yep, a shameless plug should at least be followed up with some pics and a link:laugh1: Bob Edit: Please
  11. The cut throat underpriced work is only a starting block. As time goes on you should be able to slowly change your customer base and get away from it. Bob
  12. We have a Bupi type hot washer with spraybar that uses a caustic solution which has something in it that allows it to be used on Ali ,I dont know if I would trust that on things like a carb. Those cheapy Ebay ones look adequate size wise for the job but do they work? Bob
  13. I have changed my deodorant Bob
  14. I get plenty of practice anyway Barrie, the kit we already have is wrecked and all the packets of links mixed up where the lads come in and trash the place. The bench will go in its own shed now and only be accessed by a trusted few bump:) will call today
  15. Twaz me that bought it Bob
  16. They can work for as little as they like Mick but they can never compete with efficiency, some of these ill equipped guys are are out there for two or three days doing tree work that others here could smash out in a morning. I dont see a problem. Bob
  17. Matt did you just find it like that after getting back to the yard or did it happen on site? Bob
  18. I know:laugh1: Bob
  19. Well Jon I thought it was good because it can pull a 3.5ton trailer up Stag Hill at 50mph but the other day I was overtaken going up there by an Isuzu kingcab pickup truck, it was pulling a triaxle trailer with a 3ton dumper on it and it was doing at least 70mph :blushing:So compared to one of those its cr@p Bob
  20. 3.5 ton behind the mitzi no problem. Hate trailers but if its off the beaten track and the beavertail wont get to it so be it. Trailer tyres dont like this kind of weight at 55mph and stand a good chance of going bang if its a long journey.
  21. Cheap old sit on mower, rip all the mower deck off, put a draw bar on the back of it = best trailer shunter you ever had. Trust me I am old Bob
  22. Flatyre has started a fight at a funeral Bob
  23. I think the first major step up is investing in your workforce and developing a kickarse working foreman. This key person needs to be able to take on and complete the work to an acceptable standard within the allocated time frame, without one you will always be tied to your work and never have the time to expand or chase other contracts. Getting loads of work is easy , man managing the work is the tough bit. I am glad I am semi retired Bob
  24. There`s a 230 bolted down in SS Aspen, keel cooled. Plenty of wind and heavily built. Good chippers. Bob

    RIP Terry

I just mentioned to the kids in the yard that Terry Wogan has passed away and two replied "who is he"? , another replied "what is passed away"? He was so much more than just a radio dj or tv presenter. RIP Terry. Bob
