  1. This is all thats left of a couple of truck loads of pure crap today, they have shifted it in record time. Bob
  2. I would value someone with a fist full of tickets that held a truck license because they are thin on the ground. Its nothing to do with big commercial contracts ,there are plenty of smaller tree surgery outfits running trucks. Bob
  3. They are rubbish, they need to be speed rated to at least 80mph and able to take a knock from a speed hump at 40mph plus . Bob
  4. Ronnie Biggs, for those too young to remember. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronnie_Biggs. The great train robbers who were thieving murderous scum that attained celebrity status . Bob
  5. Anything like BT duct or underground drains can be detected with a tracer cable using a Cat and Genny. Buy a cheap roll of electrical cable and push it up the ductwork with some drain rods, attach the genny signal wire to the tracer cable and you will be able to follow it along with the scanner. Bob
  6. Its part of a garden irrigation system Gray. We would end up in jail EgGs:lol: Bod
  7. Truck boxes have sealing rubbers in the lids ,cheap and tough .Might do a turn Steve. Vehicle Toolbox Bob
  8. Caravan Utilising Nomadic Tree Surgeons can always undercut prices because they have their own green waste stations dotted about. Bob
  9. A couple of snaps of a 7500ltr rainwater harvesting system we are installing. Bob
  10. Not really a todays job thread because the lads have been in there a month. 40 acre MOD woodland cleanup , light thinning hand cut and stacked/chipped with the breaks mulched for the soldiers to play in. Bob
  11. If you add axles and then downplate the road tax drops dramatically. There are strange combinations like a 44 ton three axle artic unit down plated to 33 tons with a reduced pollution cert pulling a road friendly tri axle trailer comes in at £80 a year all in. Same applies to a rigid 6 wheeler. Bob
  12. I spotted this today, it belongs to the landscape boys . Brilliant:thumbup1:
  13. Same tree hanging in three others on a job.
  14. I have seen your bad habits Al, twas your 7.5 tonner in convoy that shot past me a few weeks ago dragging its drawbar along the tarmac. You have definitely out grown it Bob
  15. Assuming the bolt is 16mm and a decent spec 310nm would be about right. Bob 224 ft/lbs is about 303nm ARP-TorqueSpecs.jpg
  16. I suppose there is nothing wrong with taking the drivers CPC separately and then borrowing a truck just for the test. Bob
  17. Sick to death of replacing PTO guards so made one out of a bit of twinwall 8" drainage pipe and bolted/chained it to the top link. Plenty of room inside for the shaft and I think I would sooner take my chances falling onto that than the normal one as its nowhere near the spinning shaft . Been on for a few weeks now with no issues including an inspection at an MOD site
  18. EP training in Bookham LGV/HGV Training courses by EP Training, Leatherhead, Surrey Its gone up a bit from the £500 it was 25 years ago though Al Bob
  19. You could try this, never fails http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/maintenance-help/83747-broken-stud-repair-2.html Bob
  20. What a POS. I cant see that lasting a day in this game, the same way it just clips on is the same way it will just fall off. Bob
  21. I have wasted hours waiting for " doggy walkers" to return before I could get our kit out of some woodlands, gate entrances are looked upon as carparks despite plenty of signs up warning folk to keep them clear. Kin nightmare:thumbdown: Bob
  22. Turntable is not for me but the well practiced can pull a few tricks with them. [ame] [/ame]
  23. I hate the generic wage concept, if our guys could keep their traps shut they would all have a different amount in their wage packets. Bob
  24. So thats a no from you then Sky ? Bob

[quote name=Justme Non of that helps work out what you can tow as you have not specified your GTW. If your vehicle does not have a GTW on the weight plate then it cant tow at all.[/quote] While on this subject I thought there was a scale of tow weights depending on vehicle type. It used to be that a 2wd vehicle could tow 60% of its unladen weight and a 4wd 100% of its unladen weight. Or is this well out of date? Bob
