That's my theory with the saws as well. I'm gradually doing this 044, spent about £12 so far and another £20 should do it.

I think you mean publicly humiliated You are being a bit melodramatic with your use of the language there Richard. I don't see how they can be publicly humiliated unless someone goes to the trouble of tracing their car number plate (not an easy task) and publishing their full details and then it wouldn't be that humiliating. If you could post pictures of them in a compromising situation that would do the job though

You'd have to ask specifically for imperial fittings if you are buying them nowadays. There are two different flare patterns 3/16" or 4.75mm DIN/ISO but the pipe is the same size.

I've joined them using my old Moprod flaring tool which works same as the Powerhand tool. Newer vehicles might be DIN flares but for a joint it shouldn't matter as long as you get the right unions. Male or female joiner is just a matter of what is available either will work fine. Most flare tools you just turn the die round to make a single flare into a double.

Shouldn't need to put a sign on an obviously used gate, would you park in a field entrance? His reg is public anyway, anybody on the street can see it as they walk past.

Some people are just heavy handed. A mate of mine was like that, he could break Tupperware.

Check over what you did to the carb again. Did you replace any parts or just put the old diaphragms and gaskets back in ? For what it costs a rebuild kit is always the best idea if you strip a carb.

LA screw is tickover control and can't be set properly without the saw running. Screw it in all the way so the saw races if you start it then slow it down to an acceptable speed where the clutch doesn't kick in or hold the trigger in while the saw starts then set it so it keeps running and doesn't stall when you release the trigger. All it does it hold the linkage so it doesn't return past a certain point.

Only for top handle saws. Stihl will not post saws out usually only hand over by qualified staff at an authorised dealer.

It looks like a sucker off a cherry root or similar. Knotweed has hollow brittle stems just snap it off. That looks woody.

If you'd fitted a different bar or a full chisel chain would they refuse to cover you ? Can't see why making the saw better would make a difference plus I doubt if insurance would strip the saw to see if the ports are standard.

Dealers would need to have a calibrated pump like the ones at fuel stations and you could have a card payment system and self service to save them time.

I'd have cut a bigger gob and cut from the back. I wouldn't have thought of doing a bore cut.

Isn't a fisherman's knot for joining two pieces or making a loop ? Only asking as it's one of the three knots I know

I don't know the best nail varnish for tree surgeons but I saw an advert for Texas chainsaw Mascara the other day.

I brought some wood in for the stove last year and put it at the side of the boiler. It had been there for a couple of days and a brown flying beetle came out from under the bark and proceeded to fly round the room like a small drone. I caught it and let it out and next day another one emerged. They were coming out of some oak so I burnt it first. Now if I suspect any wood is infected I bring it in and burn it straight away no worries.

I've only got 5 Better start looking round. What's the difference between a CS-352ES and a CS-361WES apart from about £50 For me these days it's the lightest thing that will do the job as well
