Their standard 550xp is £418+vat which is £502, the heated handle is £31+vat and an 18" bar is another £12+vat on top of that according to their website. That's more like £555. If you are vat registered can you claim it back ?

Cheapest 550xp I've seen is at Forest and Arb for £499 but if I was going to be using it a lot and that's what I liked it's what I would go for. I have a 135 for firewood and although I like it it's not in the same league as the pro saws.

If he's running your saws in for repair and anything like that you should cover his car insurance as well as fuel he needs to be on your business policy.

Ring in the floor and a motorbike security lock through the saw handle would put passing opportunists off but anyone determined will bring cutting gear with them.

Surprisingly temperate here, the thermometer in the greenhouse read 13.5° minimum last night and last week we were getting down to 5°. Looks like it might rain though.

We've seen it with our own eyes and it's on the internet, what more proof could I want ? I didn't see any proof it improves erection quality but if Marc says so it's good enough for me. Yes but you don't get it from passing exhaust gas through scaffold pipes in an open area. Metal fume fever is caused by melting the galvanised metal and sticking your head in the smoke for too long.

036 was doing my head in as it was running out of fuel but still had half a tank left because of the perished pipe. It would fire and start then stop again as if it was flooding as well. It seems alright now. Good luck with your problems.

Galv flu is a big internet scare it gives you a chill for a day, I gas welded a lot of galvanised ducting when I worked in foundries and never got any symptoms. The shed is 80 feet square according to OP with vented eaves so lots of natural ventilation.

If you put a fan bringing air into the workshop the pressure will force any fumes out. This is the method used for paint spray bays. Is the workshop 20 meters wide and the tractor in the middle ? The fumes would find their way out through a sealed pipe system such as a piece of flexy linked to say the scaffold pipe suggested earlier just knock a hole in the wall or take it to a window or door.

Americans always seem to stick the biggest bar option on any saw, probably saves bending down when snedding or something.

Fitted a new fuel pipe from tesgol to my 036 today. It's tight, the old one was perished and leaking at the carb and where it goes into the tank.

Stick a long flexible pipe on it and run it outside, cheaper than fitting extraction and more effective as well.

Better to use some good quality mastic I reckon, bit more pliant.

If you trap the chain with the revs on it soon warms up as it's metal to metal, get it flat out before you touch it to the wood and keep it flat out till it goes through. A bit of bluing won't hurt it.

I got one of the £70 top handles a few years ago for a one off job at home and it's had a few outings now. I run it on Aspen instead of the recommended 25:1 mix and it's had a carb kit but it starts and runs after standing for months at a time. It does cut out on the over run sometimes but it's a doddle to start even up a tree. I'd like something with a bit more power but at the price I paid for this I can't complain about it.
