  1. There is a version made of Polyester resin and various kinds of materials such as canvas and denim compressed into slabs. It is called Micarta and is used to make knife handles, looks very effective when done properly.
  2. We got one of those, needs more holes to let air in and raising higher off the ground then works a treat.
  3. My daughter and grandkids have a metal fire pit and burn brush like that at night and cook on it, they have a real fun time. Some of that looks like stove material to me, I burn anything over a couple of inches thick.
  4. Is it illegal if you are hunting vermin ? I thought it was only illegal to hunt game with dogs. My fox terrier bless her when she was alive she would have got me hung as she wouldn't stop hunting. I was walking her on a trail on her flexy lead and she caught a rabbit in the bushes beside the trail.
  5. A friend of mine had a visit from the VAT man, they turned up with bailiffs and a lorry ready to seize goods to the value of his debt. He had the money and it was down to an error by his secretary (wife) and she didn't get it wrong again. Congratulations on your cheque and may you get many more of them all on time.
  6. Do you only shoot the really old ones and how do you tell the difference ? A friend of mine has a 9mm which he calls a garden gun with a moderator and it is almost silent, just a "phut" and it knocks rats and rabbits over nicely.
  7. But how does it get in there ? Please explain as I can't see why more dirt should get in just because grease is present.
  8. Where they are promptly shot by farmers and gamekeepers
  9. The link is where it says missing link, sorry.
  10. Missing link
  11. How many BTU in gin though ? Who cares, hic
  12. Undo a jubilee clip and fasten it round the coil on the downhill side of the compressor and use three instead of the two they sell as a set so you get a more even pull down.
  13. It sounds like a glue stick for a hot glue gun, one of those would work I suppose and they flex quite a bit so you could bend them into place. I'll try that next time instead of cord.
  14. Geese, Duck and Partridge don't usually come under the heading of vermin. Partridge season is September to February 1st.
  15. Where does the dirt get in, through the grease hole ? If there's a grease point on anything I grease it.
  16. I bought on on ebay ready filled with grease and it works fine. Take the end cap off and push the inner cover down to bleed it, it might just have an air lock.
  17. It's nice for spoon carving as well.
  18. Do you get a guarantee with them ? Oi'll guarantee you'll not see me for dust once Oi've got your money sorr !
  19. I don't particularly like cats but I wouldn't wish them any harm. I am of the view that they should be kept in house like dogs and taken out on leads, I see enough of the birds they mutilate on my back garden and if it's in pursuit of birds when it gets stuck it should be left to get itself down and learn a lesson in the process.
  20. The crank should be made of something hardened like nitrided EN40B so I don't think it would be easily drilled. Bearings are not expensive and you don't grease or lube them that often and they get enough chain oil to keep them going for a long time from what I've seen today when I had my saw in bits.
  21. I was using the 135 the other day and the chain was spinning on tickover so I thought it was obviously the clutch. I've not greased the roller bearing so I thought I'd have a look at it and do the bearing at the same time. I used the cord down the plug and tried a drift but it kept spinning the piston no matter how much cord I tried. I made a spanner to do the job by cutting an old socket and welding it to reinforce the pins. It removed the clutch relatively easily. I put it all back together and the problem was still there so I took it to bits again and found it was the plastic oil pump drive sticking on the crank. Cleaned it out and greased the inside and it's all good now.
  22. As long as it has the FC or FD rating and is self mixing you should be fine with what oil you have. The ISO is just another equivalent rating system.
  23. Last year we had a garden spider which put up a web over our window every morning and took it in at night. I was catching flies in the house and throwing them on the web to watch it run out and take them away and wrap them up. It grew quite big with all the bluebottles I kept giving it and the entertainment it created was a nice diversion as well. None of the UK spiders bites are dangerous as far as I can tell, not even as potent as a wasp sting.
  24. Bath spider I reckon Don't often see them in the garden, must have used all the hot water.
  25. Dig shot or dog logs to you mate
