  1. How does the oil pump drive on those saws. I had a similar problem with a saw and it was the oil pump drive sticking on the crankshaft.

    Vivaro vans

They drive alright and are comfortable vans but they have a history of injector, pump and gearbox problems before 100,000 comes up. The bike shop had the Nissan because it was cheaper than the other two despite being built in the same factory and only had a problem with the crank position sensor.
  3. Here you are Jon Aspen 2. Guideline price as some dealers will "do you a deal".
  4. With the intake blocked it will pull fuel through under pure vacuum so if it stops again it is obviously a fuel problem. There is air getting in somewhere or the fuel is not pumping through. Have you replaced any carb parts or just visually checked them ?
  5. If that's a single storey building with a 45° roof I'd guess the tree at 23 metres. If you are getting paid by height go with their estimate.
  6. Sounds like an expansion tank. It pushes water into it when it's hot and sucks it back when it cools and it sounds like it is doing it's job. Check that the radiator cap is working and that you have the correct type.
  7. Aerosol carburettor cleaner will rinse it off if you don't have air on tap.
  8. Cold and wet all day here, never made it over 13° so I watched snooker most of the day.
  9. I would definitely need a grid over the top of that to stop me falling in and to place some bacon and sausages on.
  10. There's only a fortnight's difference between a bad haircut and a good one Give it time and it will fill out and look green and no-one will see the cuts.
  11. We used to use them for banding materials onto pallets as above. You need the appropriate band and clips, metal and polypropylene band for the respective types. Pull the band through the slot by hand then tension it with the lever. Put the clip on and crimp it then push the lever down firmly to cut.
  12. Yodel tracking is brilliant. We were waiting for a parcel and the tracking said it was sent to Milton Keynes and 12 hours later it said sent to wrong hub now sent to Sheffield then sent to Wednesbury before it came to us so it had gone by us twice before we eventually got it.
  13. You could have hired one when the work came in and not had the bother of mending it, storing it and looking for work to justify buying it. If the price was right and you have room for it no problem though and you might make a bit of money on it in the long run.
  14. I bet it hardly noticed the combined weight of all those beards
  15. You're married to Zoe ? My favourite page 3 girl after Linda Lusardi retired. It looked like he took too much at one go to me although I am definitely no expert.
  16. They have them already, they are going round in pickups selling them door to door.
  17. I went to the local dealer the other day and noticed he is selling Mitox machines alongside Husqvarna.

    Stihl

    Is this you ?
  19. "While you're here" jobs and their counterpart "can you just" should always be added on in agreement not expected to be part of the original contract.
  20. If Stihl and Husqvarna read these threads can they explain why saws are so much cheaper in US than UK ? If something is made in Sweden surely it should cost less nearer to home.
  21. Many years ago a Polish chap who worked down the pit with my father in law was extolling the virtues of some cheap meat his wife got him for sandwiches. It turned out to be Chappie, they didn't have the heart to tell him and it never did him any harm.
  22. We used to climb trees to the rookery where my dad worked. They were massive even though we were under 10 years old and couldn't reach the bottom branches. We used to "borrow" some 6" nails from the shed and knock them in with a brick to get to the lower branches then climb up another 30 or 40 feet. We also used to play skimming tin lids on some ground near home and I once threw one in the air and it did a boomerang impression and came back to hit me in the forehead giving me a gash and some impressive blood running down the face. I ran back to the house and our next door neighbour saw me and she promptly fainted needing more treatment than I did. We were taught from a very early age not to point an air rifle at anyone loaded or otherwise, my aunt still has a pellet lodged in her face from someone not following orders and could have lost an eye or worse.
  23. Alright if it's cat C or D but if it's sold by the insurance for spares only you can't re-register it to go on the road.
  24. It's a second hand one but it's perfect in the bore. I looked at a 150 conversion but it wasn't worth it really as the piston is like new and it's only an old clunker.
  25. That's perfect Chris, I can put it back together when I get the gaskets now. It should be Wednesday so she can be back on the road for the weekend.
