  1. Can't have pointy ears, elf 'n' safety an' all that
  2. That would be a log wouldn't it ? It made me think of
  3. Viscous coupling can cause problems on them when they are getting on a bit. There are whole industries built up around repairing them Some say they have a service life of around 70,000 miles.
  4. All the best with the recovery. I worked on local council school gardens and we used electric hedge cutters and pull along generators. I swiped up the side of a Beech hedge and was smothered in greenfly so I let go with one hand to clear them and the cutter swung round and nipped my thigh before it stopped. I had trousers and bib and brace on and it didn't cut me but I had a massive V bruise which throbbed for ages.
  5. It looks nice and clean and easy to read. Proof reader missed one on the testimonial page " to discuss any plans you have then plase phone" and one in services "Tree Preservation Order Applicatiosn" Get them on the case
  6. Jackdaws will take bread and drop it in water to soften it before they eat it.
  7. It says martial arts not marital arts
  8. I use some cord because it's what I have. For the scooter I use a spark plug with the ceramic broken off and a M6 bolt through it but I only use it to find TDC. I cut a socket down and made a clutch spanner for the 135 which worked better than beating it with a drift.
  9. If it goes in through the plug hole why won't it come back out there ?
  10. Just leave the stubble till it's time to plough
  11. Mine are sort of pale purple, do they do a patch for them as well or only the orange variety ?
  12. Cheap saws have a bolt with a plastic sleeve which I suppose you could use on anything without too much problem as long as there's a hole to bolt through.
  13. It looks like he's having a closing down sale
  14. Cut a wide strip of aluminium from a coke can and wrap it round the piston with the ring lined up on the locating pin. As the piston enters the cylinder slide the aluminium strip down and off the piston. Have you had the piston off the conrod ? Make sure the arrow on the piston is pointing at the exhaust port.
  15. On Charles Mynors:- "He was called to the Bar in 1988 by the Middle Temple; and has been on its Estates Committee since 1998. In 2002 he was called to the Bar in Northern Ireland. " Sounds like he wants to lay off the drink and get some work done
  16. I hope you mean a photo of the tree There are a lot of those lining the local brook and they constantly drop branches.
  17. How fast was he going forwards when he went into reverse ?
  18. Keep a few pigs in the floorspace, that will warm it up and you'll get bacon as a by product
  19. Those are Pelargoniums, nostalgia ain't what it used to be
  20. A lad I worked with was on TOTP in 73, he went with the band Mud. He was a bit "flambuoyant" and was known to wear ladies clothing at times I preferred Hot Gossip dancing on the Kenny Everett show myself.
  21. Electricity is the way forward, lots of atomic power stations or build all houses facing south and fit solar cells on the roof instead of tiles.
  22. They will raise two or three broods in the same nest in a good year.
  23. They do it in different colours, one must suit you.
  24. Is it your own garden and do you get on with the neighbours ? There are usually local by laws covering burning garden waste like what and when it can be burnt. Burning stuff can upset the neighbours, another good way is to play loud music late at night or get up really early to throw bottles into the recycling bin.
