  1. He's suggesting Lumiweld Stubby, it's an aluminium brazing rod not a glue. It works well if you can do it right. We once fixed a fairing bracket to an aluminium frame and it worked well. You need a good blowlamp to heat the metal up and get the paint out of the way before you start.
  2. What a horrible accident, no words can convey the pain his family must have gone through whoever is deemed to be responsible. My deepest condolences to them.
  3. Honey Locust has thorns
  4. You can start a thread but can't reply to one ? How odd. Some forums will only accept replies with a certain number of characters so you can't just send a "yes" or "no" post.
  5. 25° on our back garden just now under the gazebo. Gone in the house for a bit of a rest and a read, cuppa and all that.
  6. I think he has sharpened his ankle bones to make spikes
  7. Thousands of them fitted to caravans and they go over speed bumps fine on camp sites. They are not cheap though.

    Horse Flies

What war was that you were in Hedge ? Apinol is pine oil and you can get it from different manufacturers. Pine oil is essential oil distilled from needles and cones so next conifer you are doing collect some and have a go.
  9. Every time I read the title of the thread I think of . Mr Wu, what shall I do ?

  13. I made one from Beech for my stick chopper and it's lasted well. The wood came out of an old sofa so it was well seasoned.
  14. Breezeblock, is debra your missus, does she work for DEFRA ? broonie, this sounds like a case for the
  15. Try some cheap rigger gloves from Screwfix or similar.
  16. Depends how much you like Skylands The arborist helmet looks different to the one in the original post. Can you fit a strap to the original and use it as a climbing helmet ?

    Stihl ms150

There's a Stihl MS 192 T on ebay at the moment and it says he has others for £350 collection only. How would they compare to the 150 or 201 T ?
  18. Why should you pay road fund duty on boat fuel ? I don't understand your logic it's like saying they should pay more because they have more so someone with more money than me should pay more for their bread or something. They probably already do as they will shop in different circles, Harrods not Lidl and they will definitely pay more income tax.
  19. I've seen this a few times from different posters and still can't see why he had the branch hung up, it could have just dropped it was in an empty yard.
  20. Just out of curiosity really as it sounds like you are going to be using it as a firewood saw. Anything without a brake these days is more of a curio or collectors item than a regular user. You say it's your first saw so be careful with it as any kickback will not stop the chain like a modern saw.
  21. Does it have a chain brake ? If it runs just use it while you look or save up for something more modern they've been out of production for about 30 years so service history will probably be long lost. Chains, bars sprockets and clutches all wear out eventually. Sharpening chains is standard practice and depending on use if you threw a chain away when it became blunt the "relatively cheap" would soon become a matter of opinion when it takes you an age to cut or rather burn your way through wood with a blunt chain for the sake of 15 minutes with a suitable file to rejuvenate it.
  22. I hope he didn't get trampled in the rush of applicants
  23. I've felled up to 12" with my Husqvarna 135 and a friend does similar with his Stihl MS181
  24. I use some in the scooter that I've had over 4 years and no problem with that. Does it smoke a lot on 25:1 ? I have a cheap Chinese top handle that says 25:1 but it doesn't get it. 40:1 and it still smokes whereas my Husqvarna on Aspen is fume free.
  25. You'd like mine then, I'm OCD when it comes to cleaning the saw.
