  1. 5 mins later the spark plug arrives.... Previous spark plug was not even 6 months old and handnt run more than 4hours ! Immediately had to turn the idle down considerably.. what a difference.
  2. Thanks ADW I received the coil this morning. Straight out to install and sadly same problem occurs.
  3. Ok.. So i was right thinking it was an earth. Looking through many coils i had seen one specify "no rev limiter" So although didnt understand how revlimiter would work with regards the coils and more to the point why it would connect to the body.. however it made me have doubts as to whether i was right assuming it was an earth.
  4. Don't think its the plug but purchased one anyway. Certainly cheaper than coil. Can anybody tell me what the third wire coming off the coil that is connected to the body is for?
  5. Does it make a difference if it has the earth ( ipresume its earth) wire coming off the ignition. Searching i found a replacement part which in urn lead me to: Ignition Coil fits Husqvarna 50 51 55 61 254 257 261 262 266 268 272 544018401 | eBay
  6. If you could that would be fantastic! I'm finding it hard to find a coil that looks the same. I.e that has a separate earth wire. Sods law i think I threw my welchplugs and dont have proper shaped tools to put one back... COrrection.. I was thinking of the welchplugs on stihl strimmers and the strange shape the zama have.. New kit purchased just to be sure.
  7. Ok.. Well no gauges but a bit of glasine paper probably around 90microns between magnet and coil.. (mostly) starts a little easier but still same issue again with fuel cap off. However i did notice that when it doesnt want to start it needs a more forcefull pulll. However coil that is on it is 503 62 02-03 and not 503 62 02-02.
  8. With regards the vent... i'm wondering if that isnt on best form also.. after running i hear a faint whistling from it until i take off the cap. Or is that normal excuse my ignorance.
  9. Hi, Thanks guys. Not checked clearence but have no gauges to ensure exact clearence. Tried removing fuel cap and running on side (making sure that hose/filter in juice) and stalled. What is strange is that this time from cold it didnt even run 1min before cutting out. So minimal heat produced. But it starts (nearly) every time on first pull.
  10. Seem to be having problem with my 630 Super 2. Starts ok. Runs for a couple of mins from cold but then cuts out. Restarts easily (ish) and runs for 1 to 10 sdeconds before cutting out again. Fuel hose is new. Tried with and without fuel filter no difference. Stripped carb (which was pretty clean) and cleaned it in ultrasonic cleaner. All gaskets seemed fine and soft/flexible and came off easily with no damage. I put same gaskets diaphragm back as they were hardly used since last overhaul. One thing I noticed when plug unscrewed was that i did have to pull hard to get a good spark. I'm wondering if the coil may be failing/becoming weak. But then why would a little bit of temperature from running just a couple of mins change the same? Or do you think that is point more to seals. Unfortunately my vacuum pump I purchased just 8 months ago is useless. so I cant test vaccum. Compression should be just fine though given it's easy to start. Anybody any thoughts?
  11. Does any body know where I can source a Knife for Bolens Super tomahawk? The blade has had it. Current blade has LUND 303 stamped on it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/q502d7ols8jg034/WP_20150227_12_33_45_Pro.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/lpxqv0vsp69vjf6/WP_20150227_12_33_53_Pro.jpg Sizes are aprox: 114x30x6.5 Hc 38 Hd 7mm Ohh and one other thing. Should the anvil be ground clean? It's rather pitted.
  12. Has anybody got a parts diagram/ list for an 8HP Briggs Bolens super tomahawk? I just purchased one from flee bay and want to give it a good going over before using it. Seller said it had problems feeding and it branches had to be pushed down. Any thoughts?
  13. Than you very much. Glad that i's me just getting overly worried. Admittedly with it running I don't hear the click.. I had to replace the fuel line so took it all back to pieces again this time i took a closer look at the linkage wire.. It was bent and bending it straight did help but it seems (not sure) there may be some wear on the connection on the carb also. Anyway it good to know it wasn't me putting it back together wrongly and most imprtantly it works. Thanks again.
  14. Thanks.. Be interesting to see. I heard from another forum that it is fairly common with 2/3 suffering from the same issue. Be interesting to know if your's is also suffering the same.
