    Stihl ms150

Yeah I know its not the most powerful of saws buts its good to hear it can handle some decent jobs. I have found a place I can get one up north for 350 so pretty tempted. Also just bought a ms261c so I reckon thats a nice little set up for someone just starting up on their own. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Arbtalk mobile app

    Stihl ms150

Hey thinking of getting a ms 150. I know they are only a dink toy but a lad ive worked with has one and he loves it. Says its good for topping conifers, some dead word and small trees. I think it will be ideal for me seen as im fairly new to climbing. And I currently have a top handle echo but the bastard is heavy and seems a over kill for some of the trees I do. And ive sort of waved the 150 around in the shop and its like holding a stihl toy saw. Just though id get a second oppion. What does everyone think? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Hi im currently looking for work ive been on the saws now for 5 years and have been climbing for about 8 months. Ive done some pretty big stuff but im still obviously learning and still class my self as abit of a novice. How ever I can do take downs, crown lifting, dead wooding. But with the company I work for thats pretty much all I do so im looking to start somewhere new where someone wont mind teaching me a thing or two when they have a spare 5 minutes (times money and all). I would like to one day go self employed and possibly in to sub contracting. So im looking for a full time job possibly on a self employed basis. But how ever I would also consider weekend work for the time being. Also the company dont do tree work all year round which is something I would like to do. Im not one of those people who want to climb all the time aswell I like felling and dont mind being a brash monkey here and there(the day goes quick). Im from southampton so prefer work around this area but dont mind bringing the tent if its abit far to travel :-P. Have all the appropriate tickets, full driving licence and transport. Hope someone can help. Cheers Sent from my GT-I9300 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. I work on the motorways taking down tree and its criminal how much is left there. I take as much as I can when I can. Buy last week I dismantled 7 big willows and poplars and theres a fair few ton just laid down on the side of the m6 left to rot! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Well ive been using a saw up a tree since like novemeber time and done some fairly big trees with a ms200. Ive also used a ms201 but prefer the 200. Also I already have a echo top handle for my own work. And I just find it abit gutless and its abit old so was thinking of just using it as a back up saw. If you get what I mean. Or would you just suggest giving it a good service and seeing how it runs? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. Hi im 21 and have been on the saws for a few years now and been climbing for a few months and currenrly working for a highways company mostly removing dangerous trees. I have nptc quallifications such as: Cs30 Cs31 Cs38 Cs39 Chipper Polesaw Stump grinder Brushcutter/strimmer Tractor Pa1 pa2 p6 and pa6wa I have a fair bit of experience in all of the tickets aswell. I also have my CSCS card Also I have done such thing as coppicing ect Sorry for the long post but wanted to put as much information on here as possible to see if anyone can help me.
