  1. No Jon, Hoover make Hoovers, everybody else makes vacuum cleaners
  2. Is that when you can't see Elvis ?
  3. My old grandad used to say asky asky no getty so I said well what if I don't ask ? He said, no asky no wanty No harm in asking.
  4. Original budget of £500 makes it 50% over budget, how did you sneak that past the governor ? Best to get something that's on top of the job.
  5. Dig out and loosen the soil under where it is going to stand, pull it back upright and stake it low down. You have nothing to lose and the roots look good just make sure it is watered for a while till it beds in again.
  6. Is that your climbing harness ?
  7. DPF gives problems though if you don't do the mileage in them. The firm my wife drives for uses them and the trim is fragile as well.
  8. My brother in law was using a saw chain which was so blunt it didn't even make dust, just smoke. I could have cut the wood quicker with a bread knife but he was blaming the saw. You can not educate some people.
  9. You pay money to your insurance company to cover you for a set circumstance and if you move the goal post it is your responsibility. HSE doesn't take anything from you or ask if your saw is modified they just monitor your working practises to ascertain how you cut your leg off not what you were using to do it.
  10. I have a jar of Jalapenos and put three or four on when I have a salad, they warm things up nicely. Corned beef or ham has to have mustard on and it has to be English preferably Colman's. We had Orzo pasta salad yesterday and it's nice cold and it goes with everything.
  11. I got a Maplin email this morning , they have the one with the hose reel on the handle for £129.99 and a few other cheaper ones.
  12. No suspension automatically says no doesn't it ?
  13. Checked the seller's feedback and she has not done anything in the last year but previously only bought a lot of hair and beauty products. She has obviously taken a new path
  14. It's not in Scotland for a change, just about as far away as you could get Ask if you can come and view it or pick up and see what kind of excuses they have, not in the country at the moment, wife is nervous of strangers etc. It looks like a hijacked account.
  15. It's evergreen so it's softwood, deciduous would be hardwood. It's not up to you, it's the law As above, Balsa is hardwood and I find Poplar to be quite soft as well.
  16. A poke was a sack. If you bought a pig in a poke it was likely to have been swapped for a cat by an untrustworthy trader. If you then opened the sack you were letting the cat out of the bag (exposing the truth)
  17. It looks like a pin that holds a wrist watch strap on, have you broken a strap while cleaning the filter ?
  18. Read this.
  19. You have to be English and I think to understand this one. It's a wonder you still have a roof in your mouth if you ate a spoonful of Marmite (It's my favourite breakfast spread)
  20. You'll be eating garlic bread next, foreign muck. Actually we have some which is called Orzo and it looks like rice and most of the recipes are for eating warm or cold.
  21. I like Birch, nice and stringy so it hangs on till you are ready for it to drop
  22. Then another ladder off the roof into the tree.
  23. Mine was like that till I adjusted the carb and it ticks over and keeps going now no problem. I bought a couple of spare chains on ebay and it's only an occasional use firewood saw so have had no problem with the bar. I have bought Aspen so I don't drain down after use but it did run just as well on petroil mix.
  24. The cadets were collecting outside the local shops last weekend.
  25. My saws start up on fast idle sort of negating anything else and they tick over at 2,500 rpm. I blip the throttle to clear their throat and then go for it.
