  1. I'm referring to this Stubby. I'm as guilty as anybody of letting go of the front handle to scratch or brush something off the visor, it's done without thinking.
  2. You need to press the trigger lock before you can rev the saw.
  3. Exhausts rot because for every gallon of fuel you burn you produce a couple of pints of water. It's the hydro bit in hydrocarbon, it means water 👍 Have you polished inside that stove it looks surprisingly clean ?
  4. Did you get that off a hair dryer ? Max Damage more like 😏
  5. Best way to keep them safe is leave the bar cover on and don't pull the string, that's where all the problems start. Being a DIY f***wit myself at 69 years old and never had an accident with a chainsaw I think myself very lucky. I do have and wear the PPE and although I never had formal training I was shown as a youth how to handle saws and have followed the instructions I was given.
  6. That there is chainsaw erotica 😚

    90cc chainsaw

Why do you need 90cc? MS461 would do the job for what you describe there.
  8. Turn both screws in gently to the stop then out to 1.25 turns and turn the tickover in till you get a start then turn the tickover back out to slow it down till the clutch disengages. You can tweak it after when it's properly warmed up. You might have to remove any restrictors fitted to the carb screws to get the adjustment right.
  9. The Makita tester is another £500.
  10. Well a few weeks ago my old Makita orange batteries died and I was stuck for a drill to use up the ladder so I went into Screwfix and got one of their Erbauer 18v brushless drills. I've used it quite a bit putting screws into brick for conduit clips and the first battery is still showing 4 bars of charge and nothing has phased it, leaning on it to get the job done quicker. Can't fault it.
  11. I reckon it should be under the screw that is into the red plastic as part of the kill switch circuit.
  12. Road trip ! It's only about 550 miles 👍

    Stihl 660

It's run well for 10 years and he's getting rid of it, why change oil ? Add the bars and chains to the price or sell them separate. £500 is a good price
  14. He tested it via the decomp hole so it can't be that.
  15. Badger's arse is a measurement of roughness not bluntness as in rough as a badger's arse. Bluntness is measured in comparison to toenails as in, I've seen sharper toenails.
  16. Across the grain is cross cutting, noodling is cutting along the grain horizontal. This clogs the clutch housing up in no time flat. You spend a lot of time planking don't you ? I've not done any but it looks hard on saws and chains.
  17. They need to know not to tension the chain while it is hot, snot rocket surgery. I bought a cheap bar for my 036 on eBay and the chain would hardly pull round by hand however slack I had it. The paint in the guide was so thick it was like paste after I ran it and got some oil round it but it was fine after that.
  18. Is that £1000 worth of batteries I see there ? 😂
  19. You don't want to saw with no trousers That kit looks good for the price, the gloves are a bit unnecessary but thrown in with the rest they are fine. I wear a bib and brace Husqvarna trouser but it's a bit hot in summer.
  20. Don't get trampled in the rush😂
  21. They look good if you can pick and choose your wood to process all to the same size and grain. My splitter is handy because it can work horizontal or vertical and I can split the gnarly stuff better positioning it by hand but one of those looks good for higher volume work.
  22. I've had the 135 mk1 for a few years now and it's a good firewood saw to keep the home fire burning, not too heavy and good on fuel. You'll be looking for a splitter next 👍
  23. Had you fitted the chain backwards at some point ?
  24. It's called the bar or guide bar all the blade references are confusing, the bar doesn't cut anything so the Stihl one which would not cut butter was probably not the problem. Get a new bar and matching chain from the same manufacturer and start from scratch.
  25. If it's new it's M-Tronic isn't it ?
