  1. I have a Black tools 18 ton petrol and it has been good, not found anything it will not split yet and it is horizontal or vertical. Woodman store has them on eBay £1358 plus £100 delivery
  2. It shouldn't be, unless the bulb is faulty. It's supposed to pull fuel through the carb not pump into it.
  3. My mate did this, I got it back off using snipe nose pliers, a screwdriver and some bad language 🙄 He is under orders not to do it again.
  4. Have you run a carb reset on it ?
  5. Put the screw back in.
  6. Set the electric sharpener up properly and sharpen it again then check the depth gauges.
  7. I wondered at this as well, according to Oregon there are various Versacut chains for use with Versacut bars with a larger nose radius and several purposes. I doubt if it's Versacut as it doesn't comply with low kickback regs .
  8. I'll have you know the 135 is a massive 41cc Stubby. As for the full chisel chains they will not stay sharp any longer than the semi chisel in my experience. I got a couple for the 135 from Northern Arb supplies.
  9. If my 036 or 044 go down I will but they are running well😏
  10. The genuine Stihl one is about £115, aftermarket seems to sell the same one for everything from 024 up to 038 for as low as £12 on eBay. I'd be tempted to try one at that price.
  11. I've not tried any of the others but my 135 has not been run on anything but Aspen and it starts and runs fine, never takes more then 3 or 4 pulls to fire. A friend has the same saw but newer run on pump fuel and it is not so good but he does tend to neglect it.
  12. I've been using Aspen 2 in a 25:1 mix saw for a while and it's still running alright. The difference between 40 and 50:1 is minimal and oil quality is the deciding factor.
  13. Get the carb linkage off and pull the carb out of the way and you can see where the fuel line goes to the tank.
  14. Why ? 🥴 It's a hatchet really if it's that small It looks like someone has been using it as a splitting wedge from the hammer the back has had.
  15. You could buy a new fan from Aldi for about £12, they had some in ours last week.
  16. I had one do this and the problem seemed to be the metering. I raised the lever a bit and it was all good again.

    New cheapo saws

I have had a Dynamac DY41 for years now, made by Efco and sold by Machine Mart. Only thing with it is the oiler runs all the time unlike modern saws but the saw itself is faultless. They made Emak and Oleo saws as well.
  18. A friend of mine uses a JCB hydraulic pack to run the splitter and it does the job nicely. It's the one they use to run jigger picks on roadworks. My splitter uses a Loncin engine.
  19. I'm missing out on all the fun somewhere. About every third sharpen I give the rakers 3 or 4 strokes with the file and they cut fine. If they are not throwing chips I give them another couple of strokes job done. Just looked at one I was using yesterday and it was working fine, rakers are about 20 thou on a lo pro chain. The one in your picture looks like a new chain set at about 1/8 of an inch.😳
  20. Has the original poster tried disconnecting the kill switch wire ?
  21. My Stihl Ms460 does it, I think it's just marking it's territory🤔
  22. Luxury, we had one with black and white leatherette finish. Did you ever leave the arm up so it played the same record over and over. It used to drive our mum mad.
  23. If that's yours it's a spur and it's knackered 😱 Get a new one ordered as soon as possible. There's a thread from 2017 that might help you suggesting a rim sprocket clutch as an alternative.
  24. What if he cut his leg off with the saw and fell, damaging his helmet, would they still refuse to pay out ? I think not, lighten up man.
  25. I'm wearing a T shirt, under my shirt and jumper 😄 It's 4° here.
