  1. How do you measure 45:1 ? My 40:1 for the scooter is as close as I can get.
  2. I'm surprised that ran in that state, is that a chunk out of the piston above the top ring ?

And it's only got one stud holding the clutch cover on, how has it survived ?

I have one stud and two stud saws and neither have broken in all the years I've been using them. If you don't handle them like a gorilla and just use the necessary force to tighten them there is no problem.

  6. I just leave the door open a crack on our Hunter stove till the bigger pieces catch light, I have a piece of copper pipe to blow through if it needs a bit of assistance.
  7. I like to time how long it takes for the fan to start up, it's all just a bit of frivolity but I think it does help distribute a bit of warm air. Aldi fan didn't cost much and amuses us so all good.
  8. Self loosening systems always seem to be a letdown.
  9. A pain in the bum filling drains with seeds and the stumps come back to life after you cut them down but they are nice looking trees in the right context.
  10. It quotes the noise level at 106dB which is 1dB less than a 550xp 🤨
  11. Buy some and try them, if they don't fit get the drill out and make them fit.🤷‍♀️
  12. They don't have float bowls Stubby😉
  13. Did he put chain oil in at the same time as he refilled the saw ? Sounds like a mix up to me, I did it once and had to strip the carb to ungum it.
  14. That goat willow will make them wonder what went wrong with the fire, it does smoulder a bit if you open the throttle but there's not much heat in it. 🤨We are waiting for some better weather to cut and split some down decent stuff at the farm. Local lads use it to dump chip and odd shape stuff they can't process easily.
  15. ID is internal diameter CS cross section is the thickness of the rubber so OD outside diameter is ID plus two times CS.
  16. No, it's an old 242 he's dumped you for.😁
  17. I'll be sending some pictures to your wife's email shortly, does she like older men ? Can you get a mod to change your i.d. 😁
  18. Do they use a one size fits all nose for different gauges ?
  19. Is that a special so you can knock it into neutral? It looks like it was done on a lathe.
  20. Echo CS2511TES chattering/bouncing problem It's probably on drugs
  21. Job one is find a piece of 3x2 to bolt it to so you can clamp it in the vice👍
  22. I use my Lidl sharpener most of the time, just don't take too much off when you use it and it's good.

    Pete

That's just a saw running out of fuel. Check out a few carb rebuild videos and make sure your diaphragm is the right way round and the metering arm is set plus everything is clean. It doesn't sound like there's a lot wrong if it will fire and run.
  24. Have you done a reset on it ?
  25. Dig it out and put some gravel down.
