  1. I thought I’d share a few photos of a couple of saws I tore down, for port work, a while back. Two Husqvarna 572xps. One ran on Aspen’ one ran on Super unleaded and Moto 800 at 50:1.
  2. Hi guys, recently purchased a new mk2 550, brilliant saw, absolutely love it. Apart from a few teething issues, its works perfectly... but recently I noticed it was leaking chain oil from the oil pump, around the adjusting screw (pictured below). Ive looked on numerous websites about the slight issue but cannot find any information on the matter. It does not really bother me and I know that saws do leak oil anyway, but is this normal coming from there? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, many thanks.
  3. I have a new huskvarna 562 and 550, and I want to know exactly what proportion of gasoline oil to mix for them. In different topics they talk about it differently. Thank you.
  4. i was in my local dealer the other day and got chatting, got onto the new husqy fuel as they'd just got the first batch in, the claimed the 2 stroke stuff was just aspen rebadged. anyone else heard this? same sort of price as aspen and red can for 2 stroke and blue can for 4 stroke so it would make sense. my local husqy dealer is far closer and i much prefer them to my local aspen stockist so will happily move to them for fuel is it's the same juice at the end of the day

  6. Hey guys, as far as I'm aware, the Super Sexy chain oil from Northern Arb supplies is the best value for a 25l bottle (I don't want any more than that!), but I was wondering if anybody on here knew of anywhere cheaper to get chain oil?
  7. I'm a home owner user of a Stihl kombi ( fantastic bit of kit) It's a 2008 unit bought used in 2012 I think, it's used mostly with hedge trimmer attachment, rarely with a pole pruner and once only strimmer (have a strimmer so no need really) It has been faultless, gets a good use every year cutting a mixture of stuff privet, laurel, leylandii etc. or a week of pro use a year...... I'm not sure if it has ever been serviced, certainly not since I bought it, it's run only on red Stihl oil mix 50:1 and hedge trimmer is greased regularly. Today I took the cover off the air intake and knocked the crud off, the filter was oily and under the filter was oil not lots but enough to see Is this normal or is fuel mix going back out of the carb? I do tend to invert it and tip the motor and never noticed a fuel leak (has the fiddly black and white cover to tank) Should I be worried by the red oil in the filter material and on the inside of it?
  8. hello everyone, i used to just stick tractor universal oil in my series 3 2.25 diesel but now i have bought a 300 tdi hicap, will tractor universal be ok in it (as it is fairly cheap and i already have lots:thumbup1:) if not could you please recommend the oil i should be putting in it thanks, jim
  9. Hi guys. Need to change my oil on my timberwolf none turbo 190. on the Manuel it says use vg32 and on spectrum plant hp 46. Can i just use iso 32? and any ideas how much oil i need? Your opinions would be great please? Thanks
  10. hi, i wondered if any one could help me, i am not 2 sure how much oil to put in the tipper reservior, i had a look in and cant seem 2 see any oil? if any one has any maintenance tips with the tipping system that would all help, i cant seem to find anything on the intenet. thanks for reading regards joe
  11. Hi Guys. My first post on here. This week I decided that it was about time to get my own saw. In the end I settled for a Stihl 025 for £150, vgc from looking at it and running. I've noticed that on the front of the saw, to the left of the muffler (if looking towards the rear handle), there is a small rivet/screw type thing where I have oil leaking from. Does anyone know what this is, and is it an easy fix? Cheers. Rob.
  12. I'm using a stihl 361 as my main mid sized saw for a couple of years and have never felt it oils enough. I'm forever cleaning it and the bar, trying to get rid of any crud that might stop the flow of oil, and it works at first but pretty soon it's clear theres no oil getting to the chain, resulting in the bar and chain getting seriously hot (even to the point of warping the orignal stihl bar, which was replaced with an oregon). i think the heat build up causes the chain to go blunt quicker too. i have the oil screw turned to full, and there's about half an inch depth of oil when the petrol runs out. when i run it with the side plate and bar off, the oil bleeds out nicely. i now seem to spend almost as much time maintaining the thing as i do cutting! anyone got any ideas!?!?? or had similar problems??
