Nowt so queer as folk is the saying I use. My gran wouldn't entertain teabags as they were made with sweeping ups from when proper tea was made. -

We've always used loose tea, Co-op 99 brewed in a pot teapot but just before Christmas couldn't get any so had to use tea bags or go without. Back on loose tea as soon as possible though. -
I tried a cheap piston in my Stihl 044 and it's been fine since, never missed a beat. A couple of broken fins won't make much difference, I'd try cleaning it up first.

£8 a bag in Tesco the other day worked out at about 80p per piece of wood. They don't have a sell by date on them either so they'll not be getting any cheaper.

This sounds pretty obvious, have you had the valve apart to see what's happening inside ? It's 25 years old and might need a little TLC, some Jizer and a blow down wouldn't hurt it.

There was a clean looking one on Gumtree recently went for £750. You can buy a new MS881 for £1500 I would not pay £1000+ for something 10 years old.

I bought a MS460 with a stripped plug hole that someone had completely mangled. I took the cylinder off and it was beyond repair but there was a new Stihl P&C on ebay so I fitted that. The carb had been messed with and I had to take the limiters off to turn the H&L screws and when I looked at the original piston the lands had broken up between the rings.

I used to buy Rotatech chains from Northern Arb supplies but now they have changed the name to rotatechproducts.com so it looks the other way round to me.

Property insurance doesn't work like car insurance, you can only claim for damage to your own property so the three injured parties will all need to make their own arrangements. Let them contact their insurance companies before you start to do anything or you might end up as part of one of their claims if anything goes wrong.

Yes but once you've burnt the logs and oil they've gone but you would still have a splitter to make more logs if you can get free timber even better, that's my theory. As for the vodka if Art is anal surely his vodka is going to be good 👍

You need an axe for chopping, saws are for cutting😁 Pleasant is not far out, small Husqvarna like the 120 for around £150 would get you going.

It's still below the port, you'll not lose any compression so it's worth a try. Check it again with some acid or oven cleaner just to make sure it's not higher than the plating and clean the port edges up as Spud said. Get a decent piston and rings and crack on.

Stiga was a Swedish firm, probably still is but apparently the saws are made in Italy so most likely nothing to do with Dolmar or Makita.
