  1. I really would not take the waste through the house, builders bag at the most, can you take a fence down to cross neighbours garden to your vehicle? Try and involve the neighbours. I bet they will be glad to see the back of the tree as well, all those leaves n twigs.
  2. I use the Met Office forecast but have recently tried Weatherweb.net click on the "Fast Weather Forecast" on the bottom or you will die a slow death the main one is 10 mins long..... Weatherweb TV
  3. Well done! Hope you are enjoying the course, it's been a long time since I did mine and still remember and practice some of the things every day. It's like having an instructor sitting on your shoulder, though I think mine has developed horns and a trident over the years
  4. Problem I am having is the ground is so wet, trees are being uprooted and falling over rather than being snapped off as such. Lost this nice fir next to a cabin on one site.
  5. 1 hr approx, beginning and end of the day, A is for Arbtalk so it's first on my list, Emails come a bit further down. Congrats to Steve and the Mods for running a good Site.
  6. Good Luck with the Log sales Jon (and everyone else). 6:30am Tuesday 13th Jan Radio 4 just announced theres a storm called Rachel in the Atlantic going to dump a months worth of rain on London in the next 24hrs!!!
  7. Turn it round first in Picture Manager
  8. Yes its on with the Wellies time again!!!! soggy Sussex. It gets really interesting when both sides meet in the middle.
  9. Is this of any use, might buy it myself as a tool carrier, double cab and lots of outside lockers. Trying to think what to use the spec lift for or change it for forks? FORD TRANSIT CREW CAB SPEC LIFT LWB | United Kingdom | Gumtree
  10. I'm only a mile from the sea here in Eastbourne so were us to Coastal Gales , everything bolted down but its been heavy winds and torrential rain since about 7pm last night, got up at 4am for a wheelie bin race, so far its the felt on the new summer house torn back and a fence panel come loose....still the same weather outside as I type this at 10:24am
  11. Having had a look at the pictures of your wood it looks very natural rather than neglected. similar woods are for sale on many of the "Woodlsnds" Sites. I started 2yrs ago working on this wood, plantation of Scots Pine, Silver Birch, Horse Chestnut, some Oaks, some Coppice and many fallen Leylandii from storms of 1987, it was supposed to be a "managed wood" I almost cried when I saw what had been done, more like cut n chuck, 2 yrs on and I like to think I am making progress
  12. This one looks so good, almost too good to use. It must have come from one of the Mine workings rather than running around the bush. I have friends in the Safari and Mining Operations in SA, the safari trucks are wrecked on the poor roads. I am off to visit end of April, sadly I can't bring one back due to my 22kg weight allowance....
  13. I always work on a 4:1 ratio
  14. Well after a wild and windy start its turned out quite nice n sunny, been out combing the grass as my wife calls it, last of the willow leaves,
  15. Went in to one Estate and had a tidy up, got the chipper stuck in a ditch, got the chipper out of the ditch. Was told not to come back till 13th Jan as they are off to Mexico! Oh and heres a couple of bottles and something for your wife, bit extra £ as well ok have a good one. After I left I had a look they have only gone and paid me till mid Jan yipeeeeeeeeeee. Happy Christmas Everyone

  17. Hammond putting the Merc G Wagon £370,000 6x6 in 3 metres of water and also out in the sand dunes in Abu Dabhi! amazing I want one now.......
  18. Sorry to hear all this lads, my problem today was quite small....using my Stihl KM Kombi with the extension and saw unit, just trimming a branch off a tree, cut branch, branch slides horizontaly down pole and breaks loop handle clean off £24.75, nothing like your bills but still a surprise!
  19. I do like a nice Salad in the Summer but you can't beat one of these when you come home in the dark, cold, wet....the meat is under there somewhere!!!!!
  20. Before entering the Landscape/Arb arena I worked for a Computer Maintenance Company 12 Office /workshops Nationwide 400 Field Engineers. I progressed to become a Business Analyst in the Costings Dept replying to Maintenance tenders. Tupe can be and often is a bag of worms, you were not ment to win this one obviously but some companies are obliged to retender every 3-5 yrs. I would have thought the saleries in your case were inflated by 50% or is that what they are paid "when they work". A 4 man team on PAYE fully supplied with equipment, tax, insurance, repairs and renewals, plus add 28% for extra staff to cover holidays and training days would have to bring in approx £500k-£750K per annum, I just do not think this is possible (or I need to put my prices up) ! We bought another Computer Maintenance company for £1 assuming £2-£3M Debts, turns out they were really losing £500k per week! The engineers (some been there 25yrs) were on 4 x annual Salary Redundancy, ouch! Always read the small print, luckily I was not involved in that transaction.
  21. I run a Stihl KM56 Kombi unit with a Expand It Hedgecutter attachment, would prob fit your Husky engine unit as well they are only £75, just use white spray grease on the blades. nice easy to use short unit. I put the Stihl 1 Metre Extension on for tall hedges.
  22. Found this in a customers shed, for cutting concrete etc, diamond tipped! Just need to find a mains socket to plug it in! Still works cut a breeze block wall in the garage to fit a window recently.
  23. Roughneck do a range of scrapers or 6ft poles with sharp edges available everywhere (also at Screwfix hahaha), I use the 17lb hole digger, most roots can be got rid of using just its own weight. I know what you mean when the hole falls right next to and Oak though, possible Semtex?
  24. Good job there is no train!!!!!
