  1. It's pushing the saw a bit, you'd probably be better stepping up to 80+cc in that case
  2. Husqvarna Dolmar Echo Don't bother with a 261 or 362, they're crap! Stihl is only good for the 150t and 241 now
  3. Mate, these tamper-proof screws have been around for years, you can either buy the tool (£10 off internet sites) or use one of those electrical connector things, pushed on the end of a screwdriver
  4. Sounds a better idea, you only need a 560xp to chop em up now?
  5. 16H chain?
  6. Sounds like it needs a tune-up, also I find really pushing the saw speeds up the cutting, these saws are designed to cut on the torque band rather than full chat
  7. 385/390 or 394/395
  8. Why? Weight? Older ones are heavier but more robust design! Parts availability for the 1106 and 1111 is still full, as they're current production. Parts average the same, but easier to repair. In terms of running, they're slower but have a MUCH higher torque output in terms of cc (070 is .3nM less than an 088, but 15cc less) Vibes are a bit higher. The 051/076 meets all modern safety criteria whilst having to comply with none. All of the listed models can be picked up for prices starting at about £200 off eBay and such like. They won't loose value either. For the record, I've done a few weeks of felling with an 051, heavy and tiring but a good workout
  9. Yes they do, they're called the 261 and 362
  10. Well, I see that as a bit of a mistake! Imagine you've just bought yourself a shiny new 550xpg or a 150t... Or any nice, shiny, new model of saw... Apart from what you've done is bought your missus a new carving tool, which when it breaks, will be your fault, with your big, dirty hands!
  11. No, it's not normal, sounds like a major fault. I'm assuming that your muffler was loose, so the saw will have leaned out and seized. If it's scored rather than just transfer, it's a new cylinder job!
  12. No, the old homelite saws had them, fitted just in front of the 'baffle', although they didn't work, nor was the saw much quieter
  13. Most people have forgot how to do that, why get cold when they can add them on facebook/Twitter/other social media and message them, all from the confines of a warm house and a comfy chair?
  14. I don't think the 241 ever came as a normal carb did it? I know the 441 ipl I have only shows a screw carb (didn't think that was an option either).
  15. Made the best, anything other than the 150 and 241 is pitiful in the current line-up, and the only reason they're winners is neither dolmar or husky make an equivalent!
  16. It's not pressing both, it's pressing the wrong one that's a problem, especially with a heavy load, then zooming off in the wrong direction
  17. That video would be much better if you had decided not to scratch your arse!
  18. 100 tonnes? For the next 20 years?! That's 3-4 artic loads of timber a year! I would guess a 390xp is as small as you could go, but that much either a big processor or a team of people!
  19. You're looking for a 90cc saw for a bar that size Stihl 051/076, 064/066/650/660 or 070/090 Husqvarna 281/288, 294/2100, 385/390, 394/395 or 3120 Dolmar/makita 9010 Anything smaller than those will pull 28", just not very fast!
  20. Nah, orange and silver here
  21. Your first problem is its a Stihl, your second is your clutch drum, replace it, the drums were mis-aligned when drilled
  22. I did wonder wes, I thought you were trying to beat husky to the 572xp
  23. It's so they can look at the stuff after the arbtalk community has set about destroying the items received for testing
  24. Use chemical metal, or you'll end up with a puddle of plastic and a white-grey dust
  25. Hmm interesting
