  1. How big are the conifers? (Width of the trunk). You don't need a pro saw, or even a 60cc saw for choppin up conifers so save your cash, buy a 45-50cc saw built for all round use
  2. Oh I got all the parts, just can't figure how to stick the rest on
  3. Been given a stihl 009 saw that appears to have spent a very long time in a barn, question is should I bother trying to fix it?
  4. Yeah the 435 is definitely the better saw but either will do for light work, get the 435 if its within the price range but if not the 140 will suffice, I've used smaller saws for felling large trees
  5. To be fair you could convert either saw to either chain size, it's all down to preference
  6. Yeah, I run mine on 50:1 stihl oil
  7. The 435 has 0.1kW more power and is slightly lighter and runs on a different chain, so it's horses for courses, the 140 has same chain as a topper, and with a PS3 chain will cut through wood easy, whilst not requiring a new sharpening set, both are suitable for small jobs, and the power difference wouldn't be noticeable
  8. Ok it's the same power and engine as a 235 and 600g heavier
  9. I own a 236 and have used it for more than its built for, see picture <- I would reccomend getting the 135 as its easier to maintain, as it has a mesh filter and snap-lock cover, and also try the McCullough cs340 as its just a 236 in black
  10. In my workshop today a stihl blower I borrowed from work, in need of a bit of cleaning and servicing, new fuel filter, new carb kit and the muffler has been soaking in white spirit all day. There was so much crap welded on the inside! Up to 4mm thick of carbon and oil!
  11. Nah, leprechaun piss leaves iron transfer from all the Guinness! But you can use it instead of petrol with all the alcohol! Use an alkali based cleaner, not an acid, unless you want a hole melting in the pot!
  12. Looks like ABC with bt line underneath, felling distances stated in a previous post

What will you be clearing? If its woody weeds you're better off with a blade, but you need to be careful around trees, fences and any other obstacle, would recommend you spent a few quid more and got a 535RXT or go with the 135R
  14. I would be interested in having my 346xp and 385xp next year too, but could do with a price too
  15. Husqy generally lighter I think, but not seen the new topper yet, other than APF, not sure if its available yet?! Stihl have more grunt though, have a look at similar sized saws, one way to make 201 better is stick 200 carb on though
  16. Small, light and surprisingly good considering its tiny engine
  17. Stihl stopped doing ms200 replaced with 201, small saw suitable for that would be ms211 or husqy 135, echo are good. Hope this helps
  18. Tested it today at local dealers, chewed through 8" sycamore log nicely, very light and pulled over easily, pity chain is 1/4 rather than 3/8
  19. They had em at APF, would have liked to try it out
  20. How small you wanna go? I've used a husqy 236 14" for felling 32" Corsican, so you can go real small without a problem, if a few mins per tree extra isn't a problem
