  1. I thought he looked more like Paul o'grady sorry Geoff
  2. Damn! Didn't realise I had posted you mobility scooter wheels!
  3. Oh dear! The thread appears to have come off the rails, crashed and exploded.
  4. Only 5-series huskies have AT, you flooded it. To the op, don't start with the decomp, the saw doesn't need it (unless you break the rewind spring/side casing and don't replace it). Assuming you have the piped muffler, firing is literally just a pop, it's not very loud, I find it easier to start the saw without ear defenders until you're familiar with the saw. In regards to the chain creep, is the chain tension correct, and is the idle speed correct? Does the saw pick up straight away with the throttle or lag?
  5. Oh, you will get it first, being as the factory is there! And you also get the 193t, wouldn't mind having a look at that in comparison to the 192.
  6. Yes, it's a bit of a throw-away sentence filler, like 'in my own/honest opinion' or 'to be fair/honest/truthful', they're all meaningless phrases or figures of speech intended to fill out a sentence. But I would imagine you already knew that
  7. It'll have m-tronic soon (the computer bit that makes saws go like scalded cats)
  8. Ignition advance and better porting. The new 201tm will be out soon anyway. There's also a magnum muffler...
  9. Just carry a saw round, or wear your saw trousers, you won't get confused for a hipster then
  10. Are you referring to the drum or the ring? The rim/ring comes in 2 standard sizes, small or standard, the drum I would scrap.
  11. Aspen isn't as good on toast though
  12. Well the saw is slightly seized, so I took the cylinder off on the s-10. Look at these for transfers! Now, I know Stihl used a lot of window ports, but this doesn't make sense, it's closed transfers, with a cut-out for the piston windows too?!
  13. You can buy rim drums for the 026?
  14. Can't buy the non-xt 365's new now wes!
  15. £400?! Damn! Makes husky and Stihl look cheap! No, I have no experience with other brands of saws where the model is younger than me
  16. I believe john (TCD) recently found up to 20% in some fuel. Yes, some crap oils 'conform' but I wonder whether that conformity is similar to the CE on copy saws
  17. I don't see the problem with it, it's a 1969 saw, the owner knows the risks, and the saw appears to be very low hours, complies with puwer for that specific model age (any saw made pre 1996 doesn't need any requirement) and his 'other' saw is one of those chinker mt-9999 pieces of crap!
  18. Maybe so Barrie, but the manual specifically states jaso fb oils are to be used at 33:1. If the manual says it must be done, then rules must be followed to maintain warranty! Also, the manual states ethanol content must be <10%. So aspen or motomix are the only fuels that are widely available that comply with the requirements.
  19. Seriously?! Bloody liability bullshite! What happened to common sense? Either way, I'm fixing it, it'll be on aspen soon too!
  20. Had a phone call from the local dealer today, am I interested in fixing a saw (dealers are not allowed to fix unbraked saws apparently) For those who don't know, this is effectively the rear-handled 08, it's a very early model with a sand-cast muffler. It needs a new fuel line, breather and a carb service. It has a seven digit serial (we have 9 now)
  21. Solo, unknown brand? They made the largest displacement, mass-produced, one man operated chainsaw! Like a good quarter of the old saw manufacturers, they have sunk down to homeowner and semi-pro quality, but I'd never call them unknown! The super Rex is bigger than the 090, at a hefty 142cc.
  22. Right, all new saws should be run on jaso fd oil. Stihl red is jaso fb. This is what the manual states: The red stuff is only one grade above the old crap that had to be mixed at 25:1
  23. I only have a 15" currently as its k095 on the 362xp, the other one sports a 24" bar, but will run 28", it's pretty much a predecessor to the 576xp
  24. Eddy_t

    Stihl 064

Metal shim between bearing and crankcase? Do you mean the oil seal?
  25. Has the tree got a preservation order? The answer to my question is the answer to yours
