  1. I use food grade mineral oil fo chopping boards. Veg/olive oil may go rancid if not used and re coated regularly. Tung oil not sure but may affect people with nut allergy.
  2. We have used it,carves ok the colour is more an orange which was good for a fox. It does crack a lot on drying suppose it is a very wet wood.
  3. Yes she did, and the road was gritted within an hour!
  4. Sheffield council for whatever reason have cut back on roads that are been gritted this year. Wife was working in sheffield yesterday and parked at the bottom of a very steep road. She saw a van with a chipper in tow pass her going up the hill. Lots of people had rung council to get this road gritted. As she went in to work they heard a loud crunch. The guys in the van not able to get up the icey road unhitched the chipper to try to tun round and yes of it slid down the road eventually tipping over.
  5. Yes agree been there. Everything wrong is my fault.
  6. Work so far Went for a trial first with a sycamore ring, but everyone loves it so smooth. The top is ash, quite thin as so not too heavy. Need to find some good fittings now a lot of the hinges won't take a thicker seat. Will post better pickies when finished
  7. And another! Smaller than the first one but very smooth finish.
  8. A few more These are all done by Christine and all going to christmas market. What sort of price do carvings like this go for? Don't have a clue what to sell them at.
  9. Why don't my creative ones come out like that!
  10. We have loads of it seasoned and under cover. Our preferred wood for our log burner as oak, ash etc all burn slightly too hot. With willow we can have log burner on with more air flow so glass stays clean.
  11. Thanks yes he is on my list to try. Could do with some other stuff as well. . Looking on web not seen anywhere else in UK.
  12. 1/4" sprocket for Cs 270 anyone know where to get them from. Got them from countax when e got the saws and bars.
