  1. Just a quick reminder, to me mainly as we missed it last year! 27th,28th and 29th JUne.
  2. You could be right, although lets not complain about last summer, it was long over due!! My thought was that type A are so good now its like your not really wearing chainsaw trousers, hence the trend to wear them if possible. It would be interesting to see the stats on leg injuries on professional users if anyone has a link to them?
  3. You wont regret it. I would of thrown in a free husky fuel can(as promised way back when) but since there isnt a single one left in the UK I had no chance. The Internet is usually closed on Saturday but since im in work tomorrow:thumbdown: I will turn it on just for you.: If you ask for a discount and free postage on 2 caps I will switch it all off.
  4. As above but ultimately comes down to your employer, be that direct or indirect. More and more climbers are moving over to type A. Funny really, we use to to wear type A, then we were told to wear type C so just did and tbh didnt think nothing of it really. This was back when type C trousers were sold in togs. Now the trousers are far lighter and thinner every one wants type A! Cant blame anyone though, ive been wearing type A for a long time and wouldnt go back, not all our work is up in the tree.
  5. Yeah, well sort of. They dont fit them to the 540 from the factory but the oil cap from the 550xp fits both tanks on the 540. Sold absolutely loads of them tbh. Shameless punt. Husqvarna Fuel and Oil Flip Tank Cap Funnily enough I was just about to ask if you had bought one yet, following on from other threads.
  6. Those muffs will fit the helmet but the visor definitely wont fit unfortunately.
  7. The highest rating onesewe have are the msa 31snr which are are a direct replacement for the husky ear muffs.
  8. We use this garage which is the wrong side of the river but they have it at the pump. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Widnes/@53.3567601,-2.7682275,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x487ae207c39c9c87:0xbecd6ee4cfffe3e4
  9. Oooops!! What happened there? Limb pulled the saw away? Happened to one of our customers although IIRC had reckons he didnt drop the saw on the strop but probably got it wedged hauling it up or around the tree.I ended up taking one off a stock saw as we didnt have spares in, now ive got a few I havent been asked for any! Although our one has a very slight bend in it but it hasnt gotten any worse as doesnt pose a problem ATM. Yep think its great TBH, cant fault it. We have a couple of very good 200's and I would pick the 540 up over them anytime. Buy one, you know it makes sense. No seriously as a climber and not a salesman they are definitely worth buying, there will obviously be a few problem saws but that can be said for all machines no matter what brand or model.
  10. A quick look over the IPL shows 3. One by the rope loop, one at the bottom of the side handle and the hidden one at the front attachment point on the top handle, underneath the on/switch as per the 020.
  11. As Stubby said the carb is tuned to the engine. The carb would have default settings so you would just have to do a new saw auto tune setup, running it at WOT(wide open throttle) for 3-5 minutes under load. Explained better here:- The last bit on bold being the more important bit to the user. AutoTuneTM module constantly communicates with the other four active components in the system. In order for AutoTuneTM module to decide if and when it should enter one of the three modes, it constantly analyses information from; Throttle sensor Ignition module (Information to presenter: Magnetic valve controls fuel into the carburettor AT ALL TIMES. Temp sensor informs AutoTuneTM module about carburettor temperature, which is used by AutoTuneTM to find optimized settings) Starting mode; When the user pulls the starter cord, the ignition module re-powers the AutoTuneTM unit and it enters starting mode. Idling mode; When the user sets throttle position in idling, the throttle sensor immediately indicates idling and AutoTuneTM enters idling mode. Tuning mode; To enter tuning mode, two conditions have to be fulfilled: the throttle sensor has to indicate full throttle at the same time as the ignition system indicates 8 000 – 12 000 rpm. In other words; full throttle and load. (As an example: if throttle trigger indicates full throttle and rpm is lower than 8 000 rpm, AutoTuneTM will NOT enter tuning mode.) AFAIK a new carb needs to have firmware installed by a dealer (or someone who has access to the autotune diagnostic module) I know, I know. Im off to hide at this point(remember I didnt design it, I just told you about it))
  12. Just some info on pricing wise a new complete carb for the 550xp is only a couple of pounds more than a carb for say the 346xp. The problem is though the electronics in the carb arent available separately, so, if that part did screw up it would unfortunately be a whole new carb. All the other carb parts are available though. Only a bit of a guess as I havent had to work on any faulty saws with autotune carbs but im guessing that any running problem straight away is blamed on the electrictrickery.
  13. Not really any help as we dont have small in stock but neither do husky, so it is best to keep ringing around to make sure the dealer has them on the shelf.
  14. The bridge is available in 25, 30 and 35cm lengths while stocks last. The new bridge on the new sequoia is a rope bridge, available in the same lengths but you would need to change the leg loop/bridge rings as the rope bridge wont fit through the gap. No more sequoias available until the new version arrives.
  15. Or, just buy one and abuse it, works for us. Probably one of the best saws we have used for a good while.
  16. Have sold quite a lot of the S2800 but TBH no feedback yet, although no complaints either. A bit gutted husky are doing away with the 'classic' forged line as they were a very popular axe, we must have sold a good couple of hundred of those axe's. So, if anyone is after the old husky axes buy them now as there isnt many in the UK and they arent making anymore. They are down to single figures.
  17. We stock the 3/8 560 husky bars if your interested. We are using one on our 560 20" wouldnt bother with anything less tbh, well it works for us, replaces the 046 in the tree.
  18. Seems like the 'Silky' blue tongue is a good un. The tachyon has worked well for us though tbh, has had a very good bit of testing and the rope is looking fine. Although the ZZ works well with a 13mm rope it is far better with a sub 12mm, it just depends if your climbing style will work with a thinner diameter rope.
  19. Just catching up on this thread. That does look like some excessive wear!! We, erm tested the ZZ1 quite extensively and didnt notice anywhere near that amount of wear, rope was a tachyon. There was a very small amount to start with but that became nothing really, well nothing of concern and did not affect the running of the ZZ. Although we dont have the same hours on the ZZ2 the friction part is exactly the same as the ZZ1 and we have noticed any more wear on the tachyon. Any concerns please post a pic and the spec of the rope used.
  20. Did you clean it in hot water at all? Reason I ask is hot water can distort the plastic part you have poking out there. If not DMM are a great company to deal with so its worth passing it into your supplier, was it us?
  21. Nice choice of rope there! We use the orange version which works very well with the ZZ. Looking at stocking the Yale blue tongue as that sounds like it works well too, eh Silky. Good to see everyone is happy with their purchase.
  22. We are waiting to hear back from some of those that have pre ordered, if any of them dont want one there will be more available and ill put you next on the list if you want?
  23. No chance, I havent even managed to get my hands (in a using it up a tree sense)on a demo model yet:thumbdown: Ill have to sneak one out tomorrow morn when Barry isnt lookin!!
  24. Well not just those, I do eat a bit of the green stuff now and then! No, no gut yet, im no Peter Andre but im not a fat git yet, I do still have to work on the tools for a living ATM. I suppose like a lot of people I could do with eating and drinking healthier but I dont think its a big problem for me atm so I would rather just enjoy what I am eating and drinking. Only and observation but there is a good a chance that those who do feel the down side of al lot of carbs could have things like wheat intolerances problems.
  25. I roughly put together a list of parts to build a 200T from scratch, came to about £1k in parts give or take a bit, iirc. This isnt far off that, so its a bargain!
